These are easy and fantastic. I make them every year at Christmas: Microwave Carmels 1 cup butter (not margarine),
1 pound of light brown sugar
dash of salt
1 cup of clear corn syrup
1 can of Sweetened Condensed milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla

Melt butter in large microwave bowl or dish. Blend in everything EXCEPT vanilla. Microwave 20 minutes(17-18 if microwave cooks fast) stirring every 3 minutes with a wooden spoon. Add vanilla and pour into a 9x13 buttered pan. cool at room temperature. cut with knife or scissors and wrap in wax paper. You can add nuts with the vanilla. Makes great Christmas gifts in a tin or basket with cookies. Best carmels ever!

CARMEL CANDY

1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 can condensed milk
1/2 c. walnuts

Cook over low heat for 30 minutes or until it starts to boil. Then stir continuously until it starts to harden. Check over ice cubes. Do not put heat on high or else it will stick. Butter pan and pour into pan. Let harden and cut into pieces. Wrap with wax paper.
