I'm not christian (or any other religion) but I think the sins are not in the 10 commandments. And my understanding is that it is really those listed in the 7 deadly sins are the ones that would lead you to commit any of the crimes that the 10 commandments forbids. For example, you are jealous, which is one of the 7 deadly sins, then in your jealous rage you kill your girlfriend (or whoever). Because you killed you've committed one of the 10 things that you are forbidden to do so. But you don't have to kill to be in sin. For example, if you didn't kill your girlfriend in your jealous rage you've done nothing that the 10 commandments forbids but you've still sinned because jealousy is a sin.

You have to read the Bible, which says there are things other than the 10 Commandmends that are sins. Jesus talked about things other than the 10 Commandments that were sins, so we know that there are things we should not do and rules we should adhere to outside of those ten :o)

The ten commandments are like a chain hooked to many things that affect every sphere of our lives. Its really impossible to have something not linked to the TEN.But the chief focal of them all is LOVE. You agree that terrorism is not mentioned in the ten commandment but is it right for someone to kill through terrorism? Definitely no. But where love exist,America or any government of the world would not form Anti-human policies and there would never be repraisal attack. God has given you(us) enough conscience to judge between right and wrong. All you simply need do is think before you do anything.NICE QUESTION.

there are no rules for sins,i mean sins are not only those present in the ten commandments (because sins are not only 10!!).. but it is in your conscious.. if u making something that u know it is wrong then it is a sin.. if u don't know if it is wrong or not then check if u r doing it in the dark away from people or u can do it in the light in front of every one... but u can never put rules for sins

So I can have it off with a cat and still go to heaven? Because according to the answerers you cannot sin if you live your live with the 10 commandments in mind.

I can think of a LOT of things that aren't covered by them. But then again: my mind is sick.

Is there something not covered by the ten commandments? Anyway, sin is just a human concept invented by humans, and it means little. Better to do what you feel is right, and forget the misnomer sin.

As a Catholic, I believe that there are sins other than breaking the ten commandments. They are divided into to camps, Mortal, and Venial. Mortal is deadly and very bad, Venial which are less grave and still allow a relationship with God.

I didn't realise they left anything out - they're pretty vague so that it's difficult find anything that doesn't fall within their framework.
I have to tell you though, they' re made up - just like, wait for it - Santa and the Easter Bunny.
Every single religious code in the world has its version of the 10 commandments.
Stick to the adage of 'do unto others' and you can't go wrong.
Unless of course you want to 'sin' - then you need to change your question and the suggestions will pour in ;o)

The 10 commandments are guidelines on how to live your life. Those are not explicitly the only things that are considered sins.
