Because sin seperates us from God, and condemns us for eternity. But because of his love, he does not want us to be sperated from Him. Sin is evil.

Do others suffer because of things you do? Have you ever "loved and left" someone? Manipulated someone? Hidden knowledge from someone that knew could help them? Reveled in schadenfreude at someone's misfortune? Don't get me wrong - I'm not describing you, I'm describing most everyone.
Any time another person is wronged, slighted, or disadvantaged because you put your own interests first, you have sinned. And it isn't so much that God is hung up on sinning, as that we're hung up on putting ourselves first, even when we don't have to.
The golden rule - everyone knows it, but few actually take a close look at our lives, and notice that moment by moment, we "treat others like we want to be treated" far less often than we'd be comfortable admitting to ourselves. The veil of our own interests often hides from us the fact that, if we ran into ourself on the street, and treat that other self the way we treat others, we'd think we were a shmuck!

god isn't hung up on sins, people are. Do YOU care who you have sex with? What is ethical and right FOR YOU? If you want to know what a sin is, then you need to know your own ethical code of conduct.
It is easy to see many works of God in our Creation, like his Position on Love, Beauty, and so on. But as for the issue of sin (and sexual morality) God, so far, has been consipicuously silent (or ambiguous at best).

Because God Created us- He is our Father. That is not subject if one believes or not, it is fact.
And like our parents, we are loved with an unconditional love (fo rmost parents, that is). And like us parents who understand the love for a child...it is amazing and overwhelming. Now we speak of God's love, which because He is God, all to do with Him is incomprehensible to us, because He and all that is, is spirit, and we are mere physical form, and only know of physical and mechanical things.
God is Holy- perfect. And sin is something He has never done When He manifested Himself in the flesh (as Jesus), He went through all the feelings and emotions that we did. So He understands ALL, and sympathizes with us. But on the same token, He has give us examples how to live, tells us why, and what our rewards are. This is the Bible. And He explains He is so Holy, He is not able to be connected with us fully when sin is involved. So He give sus ways to make a bridge, liuke through baptism, praise, worship, prayer...and now we can be connected to Him and feel Him...
That is why God cares- He wants us to feel how awesome and perfct things can be...and it hurts Him when we sin, because that only takes us away from Him and such wonderful feelings of peace, wisdom of truths, and powers beyond what we understand. I am living proof of this transformation, and thats why I amswered this question.
As far as sins...sins are listed in the Bible, under the Ten Commandments...but also, there are moral laws we must follow, and a sin is anything that goes against God's Word.
If you are sincere in learning more, why not take up a Bible study to understand God and to know truth in us and the spiritual realms?
You can go to:
http://wec.upci.org/churches
and enter your zip code, and find a church close to you where someone is willing to come to your home and teach it- no charge, no obligations.
This is actually how I found truth, and believe me, I was a BIG time sinner, with no undrestanding of God, of who I was...and although I still make mistakes and sin (God says because He is so Holy, all of us will always fall short of His Glory- none of us will ever be perfect). But H ehonrs and blesses those who sincerely want to try and not sin...
I still sin, but also know that if I do, I can go to Him with sincere regret and sorriw of it, and ask to be forgiven...and I am, because I was baptized in the Name of Jesus.
Good luck on your quest for answers!

He's not - we are! Jesus says that when we confess what we do that is wrong (sin), then he forgives us unconditionally and he even says it's as if it never happened in his eyes.
We need to ask for forgiveness with a humble heart and then believe that we are forgiven. My friend, who is a psychologist said that if she could get all her patients to not feel guilty about things they've done in the past, she could send 75% of her patients home! I think that's a powerful example of the wisdom of Jesus Christ well ahead of his time. Let's stop feeling guilty once we've said sorry to God.
Jesus said that he did not come to judge or condemn, but to bring new life to all.
Check out the parable:
The aldutress was about to be stoned and Jesus said that whoever was without sin himself should throw the first stone. When no one did, he said "no one has condemned you, and nor do I, go and sin no more". In other words, we can get hung up on sin, but we just need to remember to say sorry honestly and let it go and go out into the world trying to live as Jesus would have us - with love for our fellow neighbours.

Man invented sin. If there were a God, he would not use the term, which implies a human brain and thinking on the level of a human, which is not much higher than a monkey.

Because God is so Holy he can not look on our sin. When god created us he created us with free will because he didn't want us to be like a bunch of robots. He has giving us rules to live by in the bible not because he wants to be a dictator but because he loves us and knows what is best for us.

Because God created you for a reason, and if you can just imagine creating something (for example a machine) you know how it will work best so as not to break down, and it's like that with God. If your machine decided to work a way not designed for it, you would still love it, that's like God with us too. We are not machines and that's why we are able to go our own way, this hurts us, sometimes physically sometimes emotionally, but God will always be there to guide you onto the right path FOR YOU if you let Him.

God hates sin because it drives us further away from a right relationship with Him. Likewise, it cause problems for us in this earthly life: war, greed, murder, rape, etc. God punishes sin because He is just. Yes, justice does require punishment. Just as we demand justice for serial killers, rapists, etc in this life...it is just as true that there is justice before the throne of God. Sin is disobedience to the moral law of God (see the 10 commandments).

God cares because he loves you. He shows His love through Jesus Christ His son.
Sins are actions we do that are against God and He did not create us to do them. It was only by Adam's sin(he ate a piece of fruit God did not want him to eat) that sin started to take over our bodies and now it's only by human nature that we sin. But God has redeemed us through his son Jesus Christ. And if you believe on him(Jesus) He will take away your sins by repenting(turning away) from them and asking Him for forgiveness.
