If you straightened your hair, with a straightening comb (old fashioned i know), and you have a perm in your hair, will your hair come out...because my mom said it would, but my beautitian uses a utensil that is very similiar, well practically the same as a straightening comb, it hasnt come out yet.

African american hair (which i'm asuming you have) Can take alot, heat and chemical wise. That's the way i have my hair done most of the time (perm, then straightened and VERY high temp) and it only gets stronger. The chemicals in relaxers arn't effected after you use the neutralizing shampoo (stop the chemicals) so heat dosn't effect it either. Your hair really should be fine. The only way your hair will fall out all together, is if you're allergic to the perm.

If u have a perm u shouldn't need a straightenin comb...but i don't think it will make your hair come out because everytime i get a perm i get it curled with a flatiron and my aunt does it for me....since she's a beautician, she knows what she's doin...I believe it won't make your hair come out

Trust me it will eventually, the more stress you put on the hair , and that is what heat is esp. on top of the perm is way too much stress. Expect Breaking and split ends in the long run. Beautician's want you to come in with your "hair problems" over, and over, and over. Whats her hair like ?

If you are black, your hair is not the same as white people's hair, so I couldn't give you any advice. You need to check with a salon that knows about Black hair. Your mom may be right on this one.
