Religion is a human creation. Having said that every man has a spiritual aspect to his being. This means that everyone has to deal with his/her relationship with God. As a previous contributor stated, we all have a free will and therefore will choose our religious inclinations.

Christians believe that God created the universe and follow his teachings in the bible. Other religions have different views. There are also numerous sects some of whom may have dangerous views.

Ultimately, if one has a desire to know God, one will.

For the most part, religion puts God in a box. And God won't go in a box. What is religion? Religion is what Jesus came to when He came as a Jew. Religion was stuck in a mode and couldn't see Him, even though He did miracles. Religion says, "do it this way" and doesn't tolerate changes--even if God made the changes! Religion is carnal and blind to the Spirit and His moving. Religion put Jesus on the tree.

Same today. Religion seems good. But what it does is put God in a box. Religion denies the current moving of God. Religion and God are at odds. Those who seek the Lord in truth, tend to have problems with religion.

Religion answers a cross-cultural need of man. It is a man-made mode of aspiring to contact with the unknowable, anthropomorphized as God (or several deities).

It takes humans (or some other self-aware beings) to have religion. A deity without worshippers would be no religion.

A religion is the expression of the deity's will _as perceived by the worshippers_. Whether their perception is 100% correct, or to just a lesser degree, is a totally different question.

Religion is is thought of as constrictive and tight, however actually having a relationship with God is a different story. So my answer is religion is meant to help you understand the will of God I think people have changed their views on religion and made it something its not. I love God and know he is very real and I want his will for my life If you really want to know for yourself go visit a born again Christian church talk to the pastor and get to know some of the people I guarantee you will see that there is a tremendous amount of love and that religion is about living for God exactly opposite of mans will.

You have it. Man is nothing more than another animal. The difference is man learned to express ideas and continued on from there until we are what we are today. If we were created and have a sole then every other living thing must also have a sole. All of it is our very close relative. Religion has caused mire hate among mankind than any other cause. Sure is a shame it came to that.

"No. Religion was here before man." Do you know how silly that statement sounds? Maybe you mean "No, God was here before man" ? Now I don't agree with that either, but it makes more sense as a statement.
Religion is the practice and rituals of worship which is carried out by humans, therefore religion CANNOT have been around before man, regardless if you're a believer or not.

YES , because no god wil create a living being just to praise him

As the bible says that god created men to praise him

If really God is there and punishing the people commiting sins whole world will not be there

ok, if god takes care of the people who worship him, then why innocent people are been killed by tsunami, flood, earth quake etc

WHAT God was doing when they scream at the time of their death.

Religion is created by men to controll the evils things done by them self

In India, There is a tribal called Kothars the total number of this community people dont exeet seven hundred

they started seeing the world only from the passed 5 decades.
before knowing about any religion the had their own god .their god dont have any shape or size they worshiped the smoke as god

from this i can say that people creat religion of their own

there are lot of things in the bible wich gives conflicted meaning

if any one like to discuss to me regarding this in person can call me @0091-934 506 2882

well obviously. Look t the book of genesis for example, this was clearly written at a point in the evolution of human culture at the agricultural revolution. Look at the mention of domesticated animals and bread. When man discovered/invented farming man had more time, as he was no longer as busy hunting gathering. The OT is clearly written at this time. The idea that man sprung into existence fully formed speaking perfect Hebrew with domesticated animals and bread is so ridiculous, but some people believe it. Farming techniques and bread making and the domestication of animals developed over the millennia thousands of years after the appearance of Homo sapiens in the fossil record

Yes. If you check you will find that God, by whatever name you call Go, is not on the membership roll of any church, temple, or mosque. Nor will you find God extolling the virtues of any specific religion. In Bhagavad Gita Krishna does not say " I am the only way" he merely states that he is the best way. Christianity was not founded by God, not even by Christ. Christianity was founded by a guy named Saul of Tarsus, who changed his name to Paul. Buddism was not founded by any Buddha, rather by followers of
Gautama. Interestingly Buddhism is a religion yet Buddhists do not believe in a god.

So yes, organized religion was invented by men to control the beliefs and actions of everyone else. Religion is not all bad. But, beware of anyone who says he/she has all th answers.

Religion is just man's ego at work - man's attempt to explain the impossible. The mind of peace is the power of understanding which will forever Go On Developing.
