For example:
"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)

Lili,
I am not a pagan. Pagans are polytheistic. I do not believe in any gods. That would make me an atheist, though since I can't prove that there aren't any gods, I would have to say I am an agnostic.
You give no proof for why I am wrong. You just call me names.

Origen,
I think you pretty just proved my point about the Judeo-Christian-Islamic god being a barbarian. I won't go into the nitty gritty detail of you semi-coherent 'answer' but your faulty logic for Judeo-Christian slaughter of other tribes is rather astounding. It's ok for god to send people to murder whole tribes or villages because they were asking for it? I find all of the horror stories of roasting babies and such pretty hard to believe. It sounds remarkably like propaganda against people who would not convert to Yahweh. Either way, nice war god you've got there.

Broadcaster,
I am pointing out the hypocrisy of a religion that touts itself as the most 'loving' and 'decent' of all religions.
Not to mention jesus' commandment to turn the other cheek, which to my knowledge, no christian has ever actually done. (On that point I might be wrong. But for the majority it is true.)

Seven and Crash Dummy
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

The Judeo/Christian G-d is not the same being as Allah. You're confused by thinking they're the same.
Even in G-d's judgement, He has mercy. Anyone can find anything in Scripture & justify it by bending the Scripture to fit their purpose. This is the tactic satan used on Jesus when he tempted Jesus in the wilderness for 40 days.
If you had looked closely, you'd see that what Ezekiel was experiencing was a vision. It was something supernatural; not something that actually happened.

Does any one ever read th entire Bible? ok i can clearly see that in the first place you dont believe in God so judgeing him seems kind of pointless...Now secondly If you were to believe in God as creator of us all than you would begin to understand that he created all that is good in us all that is righteous in us so trying to judge God kind of becomes silly what measure would we use to Judge the one who created the measure....If you see yourself as having any good qualities they would have come from the one who created you....and that is waht you are going to use to measure the righteousness of God? Now if and I say if God did decide today to take away all of us that he created....How can you say it is wrong....prove this unrighteous that he gave life and took it back? There is a way that seems right to a man and this way ends in death. According to God our interpretation of righteousness is wrong errant...and he would know he is the one who created it.so if a finite being is to judge the infinite he would have to see the whole picture...even humans understand this we need all the facts to reach a proper conclusion...So our finite is reaching to understand that which is infinite...Cant be done the only knowlege finite would have of infinite would be if the ifinite God chose to reveal it to them through faith...It would have to be faith because we cannot percieve of that which we cannot see...So on this earth some people have been granted a limited view of another world...which your basic person cannot see...without God nothing can be seen of these things...some choose not to believe in things that they cannot see feel touch whatever...so nothing outside this finite world is real to them they cannot accept it...Let me explain before men sailed around the world and landed in the new world to them there world was all there was...but it really still existed even though they had no clue of these things...spiritually you are like those folks you live here in what you consider the real world and you measure by the things you see there is nothing wrong with that...that is normal but if you see more then you cant deny it...those that sailed the world and met other people new that it was real it became a part of the new reality they could not deny what they knew the same is true with Christianity once you know him ...you know...theres is no pretending you dont.

Ah...okay. Did you find this scripture quote from your own personal study of the Bible? I'm guessing not. If you had, you would have seen that this was not an actual event...rather, it was a vision. In typical eschatological language, the vision (in its entirety) depicts a central theme: God hates sin, God is just, and God is merciful. Of course, you want to focus on the sections of punishment because it fits your bias. Yes, justice does require punishment. Just as we demand justice for serial killers, rapists, etc in this life...it is just as true that there is justice before the throne of God.

If I may get philosophical here... what makes you think killing people is wrong? How can you prove it to me? That is your opinion and it is ok for you to live by, but who are you to judge another? Why do all of us have to submit to your view of right and wrong? There are thousands today that have no problem slaughtering people, are they all wrong? I believe if you examine your thoughts on this subject you will find that you are preaching to us all the views of the environment you grew up in and saying that those views are universal truth. Right? To be logical, you must prove to us that those moral opinions are indeed universal and that they apply to God. I am listening..................

I think so - harrowing tales of death and destruction fill the bible. Human sacrifice is involved, OK, so God turned round at the last minute to Abraham and said it was all a joke and he didn't have to kill Isaac after all, but still - to be asked to kill your child to prove your love - what kind of God is this?

That kind of thinking would have most people sectioned for life!

The God of the Bible is a God of RIGHTEOUSNESS. The same way he rewards good He punishes EVIL. BLACK AND WHITE. Do you blame him for the reward of the evil person? For example of a real account have you read the story of CAIN? Why did he slaughter ABEL? DID YOU SEE THE PUNISHMENT OF GOD UPON him? Israelites are like the Off spring of Cain! Again, KING AHAB and his wife JEZEBEL? She slaughtered Naboth(1 KING 21) for no “reason”. Here in this story line you see a typical Israel in action and how careful God was with them .I’m a Christian or to put it more properly, a Bible follower. The book of Ezekiel is a vision of the PAST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE FUTURE! TODAY! And IT was SYMBOLICALLY REAL! It is LITERAL as well as SYMBOLIC. And it will happen to a Generation that has turned its back on GOD at the APOSTASY that is already brewing today even as we talk. The CHURCH is the HOUSE OF GOD, So the thing starts there..(eh?)The judgment God allowed was TRULY JUSTIFIED (Talking factual and not judgmentally)
Eze 7:23: for the land is FULL of BLOODY CRIMES, and the city is FULL of VIOLENCE. Those WORDS “Bloody Crime and Violence” speak volumes! Their crimes surpass those of Today’s New York by proportions! And you had better know that it is because the oppression of the wicked mounts up so much against the Just and the just cries come up to God then he comes down to judge. The crimes being perpetrated are against A FELLOW FLESH AND BLOOD for God's sake. Did you read of the Pharisees in the New Testament? What did they have against Jesus? THEY WERE TOTALLY INHERENTLY EVIL! They ALWAYS MURDER the TRUTH FOLLOWERS! God slaughters and will slaughter again if necessary! Nevertheless Again, I am strongly in the opinion that the wordings are symbolical however the meanings are not MISREPRESENTATIVE of the actual scenario .This scenario Perhaps took place in MOUNT ZION in the SIDES of the NORTH in the past and will OCCUR AGAIN. The heavenly Jerusalem (ZION) is presently WIDOWED and in SACK CLOTHES. Again imagine a DAVID against His Loyal Subordinate URIAH. He killed the man and TOOK his wife
!!That’s even SMALL compared to the evil that God endures! For example what do you expect of a perpetual Murderer and CANNIBAL? Look those watchers that came in to slaughter were from the DEVIL and were called robbers (EZE.. 7 : 22:My .... my secret place: for THE ROBBERS shall enter into it, and defile it.)Who is a ROBBER? Surely ,the Enemies of ISRAEL or in particular the devils. Those robbers are God's ANGER .they will come again(the book of Revelations)! However God disallows them to touch his OWN as he marks them. In the Old testaments, there was Slaughter. The slaughter was THE ONLY SOLUTION of destroying a heathen generations of IDOLATERS, WITCHCRAFT murderers ETC! Their evils surpass DOCUMENTATION. For example have you not read of the evil sacrifices performed by the heathen to their Gods? E.G. TAMMUZ? New born babies are placed in smoldering hands of huge HEATED metallic IDOL to slowly ROAST TO DEATH amidst LOUD drumming and chanting used to conceal the cries of the infant and mother! Excerpt form Ezekiel paints picture of such activities in Israel.:
“ 18And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? 16 20: 20Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, 21That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?”
How ever:
18 32:For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves and live ye.
, …GOD LOVES TRUTH AND HATES TO SE E MEN DIE.
Read across the books of the Prophets of the bible and you will be astounded to see that God really loved the people but the [people were renegade and naturally Evil. You need more then a single book of the bible to understand its contents.

you're wondering in very human words, which isn't how God thinks. Many Theologians imagine God lives "outside" time; it truly is, there is not any previous, modern, or destiny for God. For Him, each and every thing exists all mutually. So, it really is compared to He knows the destiny; He knows all of it. yet, it variety of feels we can replace our destiny. it truly is area of what prayer is about - in case you ask for something, and God provides it to you, that is tremendous. in case you probably did not ask, then you gained't get it, even with the undeniable fact that if God "knows" you want it. something like that (perplexing to describe in very few words!). a number of what you're speaking about is John Calvin's predestination concept. it truly is something Catholics do no longer count on even with the actuality that. the conception is that there is an "choose," who're going to Heaven, and God already knows who they are, and, there is not any longer something you need to do about it. To me, that is in no way logical. it ought to recommend there is not any element on even attempting, as, the equipment is "fixed." i will not settle for that. Hell isn't an section even with the actuality that. it really is in straightforward words lack of existence - that is what the Bible says. truly, we can settle for the present of existence, presented to us by ability of God as a present of grace (that is love). If we settle for it, we stay (in Heaven). If no longer, we die, body and soul both. yet, it really is OUR selection. even with the undeniable fact that if God knows the properly result, it continues to be as a lot as us. And, it variety of feels we people can replace our minds; God appears hopeful that we will. Jesus gave 3 parables in a row (Prodigal Son, lost Coin, and lost Sheep) that deals with that very ingredient. common sense is tremendous significant at the same time as coping with this God stuff. It became so extreme to reading Theology that we had to take particular classes in common sense, and reason on the seminary I went to. If something doesn't look to make sense, you both don't have the right information of it, or, it truly is straight forward incorrect!
