Our son showed up unannounced last night at 8:30pm (we havent seen him in 3 months). He left home 1 1/2 yrs ago to join a Carnival. He wanted some of his things he had left behind. I retrieved them for him, as he was leaving the ride that brought him left him at our house. They stranded him in our city. The Carnival quarters are about an hour away. We waited nearly 2 hours for these people to come back for our son. My husband finally at around 10pm transported our son back to these unsaviory living quarters an hours drive away. About 1045pm the door bell rings and yes, you guessed it, his ride returned. The dude at the front door was a CARNY obviously strung out on CRACK or something. Would you as a parent responded the same way and transport your son/daughter to keep him as safe as you could?

I think it is your responsiblity to look after your children, however it is easier said than done when they are grown and try to make their own decisions. sometimes tough love is very effective. I mean I would have taken him back, but talked to him all the way there. I am sure there is something going on! You may not agree with his choices but support him in his decisions.

Of course. Responsible parents ALWAYS want to keep their children safe. As an aside, I can tell you're not happy that he's working at the Carnival. Do you know why he did that? Can you talk to him about it? I wish you well, my friend.
