Well Cons, there you go. Something to cheer about, right?
No doubt this will be the prominent event for a few days. Tony Blair has wasted no time in cheering what a great blow vs. Al Qaeda this is. A Jordanian, who was really a minor player in the insurgency, killed. Well, it's something.
Al-Maliki cleverly named his two most controversial cabinet picks when he announced this news (the U.S. waited and allowed him to break the story), timed for maximum propagandic effect. Well done, played about as well as it could be.

What's it mean? Not much, really. In a few weeks you won't even remember his name. We've killed the number three guy (so we were told) in OBL's organization a number of times. I forget what their names were.
The news media now has to build up another 'Hassan-Ben-Sober' to put a personal face on the 'enemy' for the dumbasses to follow.

We will now see the Bush administration through their various proxies saying how their 'stay the course' strategy is beginning to pay-off.
No troop withdrawl -- the build up for the Ramadi offensive continues.

This is the animal who cut Kenneth Bigleys (British civilian contractor) head off with a butchers knife, whilst he pleaded for his life, on video.

That mans family (who were not supporters of the war by the way) now never go a day without the haunting image of their brother, son, having his head severed from his neck with a fountain of blood as shown on Al Jazeera.

He personally did three "live for TV" beheadings and sponsored the rest.

Is is a good thing this beast is dead? Damn right it is!

You are correct Al Zarquawi was a Jordanian. He was not an Iraqi or a freedom fighter, and nor are most of his Sunni followers.

Does his death mark the end of the insurgency, no of course it doesnt, but it is important as it clearly shows that Iraqis are starting to turn against the real foreign invaders and that is the bunch of criminals who are only in that devastated country to cause civil war between the Sunni and Shi'tes.

I give it less than 24 hours until he's replaced. That is, if he hasn't been replaced already.

It's like Israel killing the number two man in Hamas or HezBollah a dozen times or more.

By the early 1970s, the entire leadership of the West German Red Army Faction was dead or in prison. They didn't give up the fight until 1997.

I think it's great, if we with drawl our troops now, Iraq will become a terrorist country, and that would be worse, they would set up more training camps, and their would be a civil war between the tribes. I am sure if this was a Democratic President you would be saying things differently, and the news media would have a more positive attitude and everything would be justified. typical bonehead liberals.

yes, I am happy as I am sure the he was responsible for some of the insurgency. Will it make a difference, I doubt it, only thing that will make a difference is to get rid of Bush. Now that would make a big difference.

My maximum acceptable buddy is a guy. quite a few reliable acquaintances are adult adult males. In some procedures, i love putting out with adult adult males more effective than ladies.
