JuJu, you have reminded me of a 'traffic light' they used in the cafeteria of my middle school. It was actually quite funny. Apparently, we collectively were reaching beyond the noise level capacity the cafateria workers could tolerate. So, they decided to bring in a 'traffic light'. When it was Green, we were good to go. When it turned Yellow....Uh-Oh, perhaps we were getting 'out of control'. And, well, when it turned Red, we took it as merely a suggestion to settle down a bit. Rarely did we 'stop' our carrying on.
The traffic light lasted about 1 week in our cafeteria. I think the workers realized we were kids and kids tend to be a little loud when it they are away from the books and fed sugar.
*clears throat* Not me, of course. I was a good little school girl. Always waited for the 'green light'.

Quebec for instance.
Montreal drivers also seem to be a little paranoid and won't use their signal lights. It's as if they don't want you to know where they are going.
We have ,almost, been broadsided a few times because of someone not remembering that traffic flows in 4 directions at most intersections. I get a little anxious as I am thinking of getting my license soon. Maybe not eh?
To be honest though, everyone thinks the drivers in their town are the worst.
ps,
tonight we saw at least 4 people cruising through stop signs in our nice little kid and cat infested burb.
maybe we just don't like to be told what or what not to do.

if i were a cop, i'd have a payin customer every 5 minutes for red light violations. i swear people are colorblind these days. i always try to make red lights if possible. i've locked all 4 tires at times, but i've never acually ran one i could have made. there was one where it changed in the rain, the tires locked up, car slid completely thru the intersection regardless of input to brakes. o well

In Paris the drivers are nuts. I heard, if a car hits a pedestrian in the street and the light has just turned green, the pedestrian pays for the damage to the car and themselves.

Northern VA, Washington DC, & Southern Maryland. Home to the worst traffic and even worse drivers. Red here means speed up and hope you don't clip someone doing it.
