Evalyn was known to have a heart of gold, and a real concern for people in unfortunate circumstances. "For instance," says columnist Sarah Booth Conroy, "during World War II, she used to have veterans come to her house for big parties, particularly wounded veterans who had lost a leg or an arm or something like that. And she put up a water fountain on the street so that hot war workers could have water as they went down the street. And one time she went out in the middle of the night – a terrible, terrible night – because she got to worrying about people who were sleeping in the park and didn't have anything to eat, and she tried to find people to take in."
According to Evalyn, "I like to wear my diamond as a charm, and pretend it brings good luck to everyone around me."
Evalyn with first son, Vinson
Evalyn loved the notoriety but not the vulnerability that came with the family's great wealth. When her first child, Vinson, was born, the newspapers proclaimed him the "Hundred Million Dollar Baby," and Evalyn lived in fear that one day he would be snatched away. It was a nightmare that came true in 1932 for American hero Charles Lindbergh and his wife, Anne, when their baby was taken from his nursery. Evalyn's immediate reaction was to help in any way she could.

Why don't you just name her Eva Lynn Trombly? That way you can still call her Eva without having to screw with the spelling of Evelyn. I don't know why, but it really disturbs me when people take ordinary names and screw up all the spelling to make it "unique". Like my first name is Elizabeth, a pretty old name right? I once met a lady who named her daughter this, but spelled it Elyssabeth, and she always got ticked when people pronounced it "E-lee-sah-beth". I was like gee, who's fault is that? Most people are going to pronounce a name the way it looks. Just keep that in mind when making your decision. :)

I like Evelynn the best, it's the most common spelling I think, therefore more likely other people will not mispell it. How about Yvonne for her middle name, the Vs in both names would flow nicely. Good luck and congrats!

Erin is a vast call in eire (coming from the Irish word for eire), it is likewise very vast in Wales, rather particular that is contained in the best 20, (because it is likewise the Welsh call for eire) yet once you're no longer in eire or Britain then it won't be a controversy i think of that could be a appealing call and can be shortened to Rinna as a chic and mature nickname. different than Erin there is likewise the call Rhiannon (coming from the call of a Welsh princess). Being from a Welsh relatives I actually have a call for Welsh names like Bronwyn (Bonnie), Myfanwy, Arianwen and Lowri. in spite of the undeniable fact that extra Anglicised names similar to Erin could be Anira, Eva, Clara, Alice and Hannah BQ: do no longer basically like the call Marley in any respect

I love the name Evelynn Sage. That's what I would have named my child if he would have been a she, I think. I would have called her Eve (pronounced E.V.) for short.

Its stupid, not as stupid as parents who want to give those names to kids. Evalyn is not nearly as bad as some of them I have heard recently. Parents are selfish, they think they are clever giving kids these wierd names but the kid lives with it forever and can be embarassed when teachers and other people cant pronounce them. Its a stigma for life that they came from childish parents...how about Mary???
