Most DVD players don't come with a built in amp so by a surround sound system that has an amp unit for the speakers. There are so many choices now that I can't give you one exact choice. Search Ebay and you might come across a decent one. I bought a cheap one from Ebay and it pumps pretty damn good.

The best all-in-one systems are by Denon, but Onkyo also has really good units at great prices. You should listen to them first because all speakers are a matter of personal taste. Stay away from Cambridge Soundworks though. They suck.
