She changes my baby after bath right under the fan, baby is always getting sick... she puts her in the rocker... which I have told her to stop. I want her to sleep on the bed/matterss (which she can) but my sitter just wont listen. Everytime I go there to pick my baby she does the same thing. How do I tell her?

If I fire her, I would have to get my child used to another sitter which is not easy.

"You're fired" should do the trick.

So, you would rather have a constantly sick baby than a baby crabby for a couple days getting used to someone new?

Getting your child used to another sitter will be a lot easir for all. If you continue with this sitter, you will be the one left trying to undo what the sitter has done. I worked with a woman who had this problem with her mother who was babysitting. The mother would let the baby sleep all day. The baby would be up all night and mommy got no rest. It wasn't a good situation for anybody.

A new sitter isnt easy , you are right. Your childs welfare is more important than the hassle, however. I had a similar situation at my house (where my girls are watched),I didnt really want to fire her on the spot as I had no sitter for the next day, but darn it, out she went. It all worked out for the better. You simply ask her "I have asked you to please stop doing x,y,z, and you continue. Can you please tell me why?" Make her give you an answer. You are not feeling comfortable with the woman watching your baby. That should tell you something. good luck!!

You need to talk to her about it calmly and just tell her you are going to have to let her go if those things don't change. My advice on putting the baby in the bed instead of the crib- big mistake, you are setting yourself up for trouble but good luck with that. You probably start looking somewhere else for a babysitter though because you want to find someone with the best interest of your child in mind!!

I would rather adjust to a new stter for a few weeks than try o fix irrepairable damage caused by a sitter's neglect and disrespect. How good can she really be, she might be doing worse behind your back. YOU are the parent. YOU are the employer. YOU get to make the rules. If she won't listen, say goodbye!!!!
Don't sit by quietly-stand up for your child!

Did you say to use the other sitter wouldn't be easy? You must be a first time mother, anything we do for our children isn't always easy. So suck it up and do what's right for your child.

Be straight and very clear with her. Tell her exactly what you have told us. Give her a written list of what you want her to do in regards to the issues you have mentioned. You are the parent and are PAYING her to care for YOUR child. Regardless of what she thinks is best it is her responsibility to follow your directions and requests for your child's care. When the care a baby receives is not consistent it will confuse the baby.

If she continues to disregard your requests find another caregiver.

You should tell her that you will move her to another day care if she doesnot listen to you.

Give her a couple of days, and if you are not satisfied, look for an alternate. And before you put your baby in the new one, make sure they follow your instructions.
