this is a question for those of you who like to think outside the box... was jesus gay?

I mean wandering his whole life with twelve blokes and never taking a woman... sounds a bit dodgy to me!!

First off, i'm not being discriminant... i have no problem with gay people... hell, i am a lesbian,, my point was only to get people to think about the possibility... life doesn't have to be serious all the time... lighten up.

And Mary Magdalene was never confirmed as a lover of Jesus... she has only been truly stated in that capacity within the Da Vinci Code and we know that is a work of fiction.

Interesting question, if only to inflame the Religious crowd. It is possible Jesus was gay just like it is possible that judas was a transvestite or the Pharoah at the time was a fish. The main point isnt ,is he or isnt he, its the fact that non-believers have the right to think and say what they want just as Christians, Muslims, Taoists etc, have the right to say/believe what they want. One thing you dont see is people in the street preaching Jesus doesn`t exist if they did there would be an uproar.

I had to laugh at that...

Highly evolved beings ("enlightened" beings) often choose to not take part in sexuality or personal relationships, simply because they have had that experience (perhaps in previous lives, for example) and they have other interests now.

Did Buddha ever "take a woman"?

Jesus believed more firmly in his understanding of how the universe worked and his relationship with God and the All, than he believed in the constrictions of society. Therefore, if he HAD been gay (which I wouldn't necessarily discredit) and if he HAD been attracted to another man, he would not have kept his feelings pent up inside just for society's sake. The Bible talks about how loving, unworried, and open he was... do you really think he would hide any emotion he strongly felt?

There will always be boxes to think outside. The Universe is infinite.

You are pathetic. Can't you do any better than this? You call it "thinking outside the box" when what you are doing is promoting bigotry?

C'mon, if you want to have an intellectual discussion then do so, but you'll have to do a little better than mention "twelve blokes and never taking a woman" as your evidence. There is plenty of "evidence" you could pull from the darkest depths of history or you could cite drastically skewed religious dogma to support this claim (all of which I would have been glad to have easily refuted), but instead you chose to come off as an uneducated and disrespectful imbecile.

I love the way some people take deep offence by this, as if being gay is the worst thing in the world the great Jesus fellow could be. How bigoted is that? It's quite horrible, but amusing all the same

Yep jesus was a bummer. Watch the Jerry Springer opera where jesus actually confesses to being gay. He says "Well actually I am a little bit gay" and then everyone starts chanting jesus is gay jesus is gay. Watch it it is the funniest thing ever.

You need to do more research on His life. Sometimes, some answers are to heavy for us, and these kind of answers need to be found, not said.

don't even mention his name on your mouth. this great prophet and other many prophets should only be appreciated and respected.

those prophets put their life in danger just to save people from Hell. those prophets all in their mind is to sent the message of God to humanity. give them some respect and thank them instead.

i am Muslim and i don't think it's right to talk about Jesus like this.
