I adopted a new act this year i noticed she was peeing alot in the same spot next to the cat box i took her to th vet and she confirmed she was not fixed when the previous owner told me she was. I was not happy anyway after i had her fixed i figured the problem would go away but it has not luna will literally look at me and pee now i have 2 other cats and they do not have this problem at all she is only 3 and i cannot figure out why she continues to do this the boxes are cleaned and even though they are she chooses to not use them unless its to poop i cannot keep her if this continues so could someone hel me out with why she would be doing this bad behaviour i will be calling the vet to see what they think but i thought i could ask someone here. Thanks Raven

lock her in a small room like the bathroom with only her food and litter box. you may have to do this for a couple of days but eventually she will start going in her box.

First off, you need to start by confining Luna to a small area with her litter box, food and water. I would do this for about a week. While she is confined, take some UNdiluted white vinegar, and douse the spot that she has peed in continuously. That will neutralize the spot. Then, either Nature's Miracle or OUT! cat urine and spray odor remover, and follow the direction to a T.
Check on Luna and her confined area every couple hours to see if she is using her box. After a week, let her have free-roaming rights again.

st, have her checked for a uti. If she is healthy confine her to the bath room. put her bed and food at one end, the litter box at the other end. She should start using the box. Now some further info. Many cats do not like to share litter boxes. The rule of thumb is one box for each cat plus one. Three cats = four boxes. Do not use scented litter. While it smells okay to us a cats nose is much more sensitive than ours and it is offensive to them. Also those so called 'self cleaning' boxes......aren't. Good luck with her. By the way, has she been declawed? If so she may never use a litter box. Declawing has ruined many cats.

I had a cat with a similar problem and the vet said it wasn't anything physical and it was physiological, but he didn't mention a cure, she became and outside cat after that because she pooped in the same spots a territory thing I guess.
