The bible does not say anything about God crying, remember that crying is an emotional expression of the pain we feel, the pain can be physical or mental. And since God does not have a body, he can't feel pain, so he can't cry. But what about mentally?
The bible say we have an high priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmity, what does this mean? It means God feels us, he now feels what man goes through. That was after Jesus left him in glory and came to this world to die as a man. If he feels us, i guess he would be moved when we go through challenges, but i can't categorically say he cries.

When in days of his flesh, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Hebrews 5:7
Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Romans 8:34.. jesus makes intercession with god for his mercy on us...for his grace upon us.
Jesus is empathetic to understand our tears and its not just the literal sense of god crying.
We read in few instances that Jesus cried. Jesus loves us so much that he gave his life for us. He is so watchful on us that even a hair doesn't fall without his knowledge. So god know our cries and tears. But he is a god who turns our mourning into dancing , into joy....

I believe that while God is not one to feel pity, He does feel compassion. I don't believe that He sees us here on this earth and is stone cold to the suffering of His children but while He shows compassion, mercy and grace also justice must be carried out for the good of those that belong to Him. There is no way God is beyond tears...Jesus while never making grand emotional displays even when His own cousin John the Baptist was beheaded did feel grief. He wept But the gospels tell us that only on two occasions, Jesus did weep. The first time was in Bethany, immediately before he raised Lazarus from death, and the second was his weeping over Jerusalem. People often think that Jesus was weeping over the mourning and death of His good friend Lazarus but this could not be. Why would He weep and mourn from one He was about to resurrect? No...He was deeply moved in His Spirit because of the tremendous lack of faith being displayed. There was no rejoicing at the sight of Him arriving..they all thought it was too late as Lazarus's body had begun to decay. It's always our lack of faith that causes God to feel for us...because as Jesus spoke of Jerusalem as He wept.."How I have longed to take you beneath my wings as a mother hen protects her chicks." He longs to protect us in our sorrows and infirmities but we don't turn to Him...we often blame Him and so we suffer and in that...He suffers. Why cry, why shed tears when you have a God you can trust and give it all too..what is beyond Him that we should ever mourn...there seems to be much. The loss of a child? A spouse? Any loved one. Losing our health? Our jobs? Being homeless or abandoned? Imprisoned? With every instance one could list of a reason for human suffering...someone, somewhere in the Word of God experienced it, survived and gave God the glory because they know...as Job knew...what else is there? We belong to Him why should we not trust? Its a hard task. I mull it everyday when I look at the face of my children...how could I live if they were gone from me? My heart breaks at the thought..I just pray..if it does happen ever...that God would just see me through it to live on the other side and to be able to give Him the glory...because..after all..my life, their lives..who do we all belong to first? With Him...if we believe..there is nothing that cannot be surmounted. If we fail to realize this..yes, I think it saddens Him, deeply because He loves us so and has provided all the answers if only we would see...Love in Christ, ~J~ <><
