it depends on the person, when, where, ect.
sometimes its telling em about God and the story of Jesus, face to face witnessing.
other times, its not going to be effective to do that, they might get freaked out or feel pushed. so u just live by example. Be a good Christian. stay within Christian morals when people around you are doing ungodly things.
for example. Everyone i talk to knows im a Christian. At work they know it coz when they ask me what i did on the weekend i say i did... ... and ... and i went to Church. It was great! so, just that, is a seed. then, when my fellow workers are gossiping about someone, i will not join in. infact, sometimes i will say something nice about that person, and walk off. if there is an oppertunity to do a prank on someone or cheat somehow, u know, take a shortcut, i will not do it. i will do my Job properly, but still have fun.
if u go to school, its simply not conforming to peer pressure, and not getting smashed every weekend, and do it all with a joyful attitude. when people see the Joy of the Lord in you, that you enjoy life without sin (gossip, drunken parties etc) they will be curious, and want what you have.
also, showing people the love of God. if someone needs a favour, be the one to volunteer. if your boss needs someone to do something for them, you do it. happily. Tell people there doing great if they are. dont just think it. encourage someone. say "God bless you" when hanging up after a friendly enquiry over the fone to whoever.
basically, just being a genuine Christian, living what the Word says, plants and waters seeds of Fath powerfully.
when people ask how you deal with stuff, be honest. tell em you pray! tell em God helps you! dont be timid in your faith. Dont be pushy, but dont hide who you are. it speaks volumes.
"...the Righteous are as bold as lions." (prov 28:1)be bold in your faith! :-)

This is a very delicate process. Fisrt off, whoever it is you are trying to plant a seed in, you must realize they have free will and if they do not want anything to do with it, leave them be. Its their decision. Never force your religion on anyone, the moment you start forcing is the moment you've lost that person.
I personally believe that the best way to plant seeds is through a passive way. Live your life as good as you can, show an example of what they could be. You'll interest people eventually, and someday they'll ask you about your religion or how it is you act a certain way and so on. When they ask tell them the truth, being honest is something everyone deserves. Tell them a little about your religion but don't over do it.
If your little introduction interests them, they will come back and ask more questions, be ready for them. Be ready to answer the hard things about your religion. Why you believe it, what makes it real for you, why live by whatever restrictions you have, so on. They will want to know answers to see how it will fit them, so try and answer their questions in a way that will probably fit their needs.
If you are patient and gentle, people will come. If you force, lie, or overly preach, people will leave the thought of your religion.

Be the example. Make sure you continue to water and tend to your own seed of faith.

Keep telling / talking about God. He will do the watering and growing. You tell the word and drop the seed (the word)
Great questions by the way.. {:-)

You can not plant and water that seed even in yourself. Let not be tested to find out how big our fate is!
What you can do is to explain to a person and let him decide for himself what and how to do and live.

1 Timothy 1:15
15Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Sounds like you want to infect others with whatever you've got, keep it to yourself please, it might be harmful. Faith is not always a good thing.
Enquiry & critical thinking are much more worthwhile when you are searching for truth, faith & truth are not mutually exclusive... however they are not neccessarily the same thing at all.

You can't.
If someone wants to believe, they will.
If they don't, they wont.
Why force your seeds to grow in someone elses garden.
They will come to your faith on their own if that is what they truly want.

I teach a class of 4 and 5 years olds on Sunday mornings. It's important to them to know that God is always there listening to them and caring about them. I ask them for prayer requests and, no matter how silly or trivial they seem to me, we pray for them.
We also talk about how much it hurts God when you do wrong things. I stress things like disobeying your parents, not sharing, being a tattle tale, and things like that. I remind them of how much God loves them (enough to die for them) and since He loved us so much we shouldn't want to hurt Him.
I'm not sure if this is the age group you're looking for but I hope it helps!
