My dog, a pug, has been choosy with foods. I tried giving him science diet, vitality, and beef pro, I even tried giving him cooked meat and raw meat. He doesn't want any of them. He tries smelling the food then leaves it until I tried pan de sal, a kind of bread from the Philippines, he wants the bread. I'm just worried he won't get good nutrition. I also tried giving him mosegorvita, an appetizer. Still he eats only the bread.

Hey there, we just got a Pitbull /Lab mix puppy a few months ago, and she has her appetite ups and downs too. She has been on Nutro Natural Choice puppy food, and has been doing quite well on it. It was recommended by the shelter , the vet, and the puppy trainer, as one of the better quality brands.
If your guy is being picky you can try mixing in some wet food, or even warm water, or those gravies they sell. But I think eventually he will be hungry enough to eat something healthy. Save the bread for training treats ! Good luck to you !!!

The only thing I can think of is to pick a brand of dog food that you feel has the vitamins etc...like Purina Dog Chow and mix it with the bread he will eat. That is very weird that he will not eat cooked meat.Whatever you feed him just remember that they have trouble digesting spices and garlic. What does the pan de sal smell like? Is their a dog food that has the same type of smell?
Dogs need consistency to their diet. If he has had a bad experience digesting stuff lately he may just instictively be avoiding anything that he is unfamiliar with.Don't worry, when he gets hungry enough he will eat.If all else fails I would have him checked out by a vet to be sure that he doesn't have some sort of an intestinal problem that would cause his strange behavior.
Best of luck.

A dog can go 48 hours without suffering any health problems without eating, u must teach him that there is no other food other then the healthy dog food u are offering put the food down leave it for an hour he doesnt eat it put it in the fridge or away. Do this again in the evening etc. be careful he doesnt eat anything else after a while he will get the message, then after he eats give him a little of the bread he likes as a reward.

If you put dry kibble in your dogs dish, he will eat it when he becomes very hungry. A dog will not starve itself. Just be patient. Purina Dog chow is the worst food to give your dog, or any other cheap grocery brand of food. Try looking for an all natural brand, no sugar, salt, wheat, corn, by-products. This will ensure he gets the appropriate amount of nutrients

every now and then I let me dogs share a hot dog, like we went on a train and I bought them a boiled hot dog to share as a special treat. I wouldn't give my dog hot dogs every day, they have a very high sodium content and they aren't healthy for you dog in the long run. But I don't see the harm in a once in a while snack maybe once a month or so but not everyday.

when my dog just came in to our family, she don't eat anything too.. She used to eat cooked food.. But we don't want her to eat cooked food. so we gave her dry food.. But she is not interested. She is not interested in the treats too.. But after a few days when she gets familiar with us and the food she will eat. Once your dog is hungry, they will eat. Because that is the only thing they can eat. So don't worry. They might be not familiar with the food yet.
