I am trying to bring a plasma tv from the US. but I am afraid because somebody told me that if you put it upside down it brakes down forever.

dotn worry it is not true, i am working w/ plasma for more than 5 years not & never we have a breakdown due to upside down shipping or whatever except for if the unit is drop of physically damage. just for additional i saw the first answer here yes there is a gas inside the plasma but as you know gas is not inherent whether they are upside down or not if theres any leak w/ in the plasma they would leak out what ever position they maybe.

yes, plasma TV has gas in it (thats why its called plasma) turning it upside down can cause the gas to leak.

No but you do have to worry about the altitude you operate them at.At 6000 ft elevation you get a gel frame for a screen. The gas bursts and gives you a very dark screen. It looks scary, as in $40,000 kind of scary
