I'm not sure what reason is given in the teachings of the two religions. But I'll try and explain it the way I see it. You see, the prophets had to endure many hardships, which included beatings and stonings and stuff like that. Wouldn't it have been worse if a woman had to undergo such treatment. In those times, women's rights weren't as defined and followed as they are today: a woman prophet would not have been allowed to even preach, let alone lead a whole group of people towards a different ideology. Women were thought of to be inferior in those days, and treated as such. So an uprising woman would have been quashed in any case. However, a man preaching women's rights would have a better chance to get through to the general population. But do not underestimate the multiple roles of women in the spread of both these religions. Many important women took part in supporting the prophets in their missions, without whom it wouldv'e been twice as hard to spread the new religion. These important female figures preached to the women of their times, they forwarded the prophet's teachings to the general female population; thus they ensured that the future would change for the better. Queen Rania of Jordan once said: "If you educate a woman, you educate a family; if you educate a girl, you educate the future."

The greatest event of all is that the Messiah's first appearence from hell was to a woman Mary who in turn went and told the disciples.
Now weither in Islam or Christianity, when the woman and the man marry they become one body and just like any body there can only be one head and the man is to be it. And that is also why man must not cover their face when speaking the Lord's Word for their are the likeness of their God, and reckoning thereby that their heads is the Lord's. And if a woman decides to speak in the assembly let her be a virgin unto the Lord showing that they bow to no man but to the Almighty.
Surch in Deutromony.

I don't really know about the christians. But there are woman messenger in Islam. In my country (Malaysia), they were even aired in tv and radio -that should be a proof. Most of them normally doing this job between woman to woman, not openly, very low profile. Maybe that's why you don't know that they exist.

Your thinking is too limited! First, there were many women of the Bible that gave us great truth and examples. However, in Bible times women were limited in speaking out because of the custom of man in dominate role.
Today women have the right to vote and have moved into an equal partnership with man.
There are many women speaking out especially in Christianity. There women pastors, preachers, evangelists, missionaries, etc.
As the Bible says, with GOD there is no male or female, but only believers.

Because both religions were simply a means of gaining control based off of the ignorance of the public through the demonization of the then most popular religion of paganism which worshipped the sacred feminine
