What if you eat whatever you want but exercise everyday for about an hour? I am doing that now but am still not losing any weight. Do I have to deprive myself too?

I think that depends first in your own metabolism, I got a lot of friends that eats a lot and never get fat, and they never have time to exercise and sucks at sports!, while at the other hand, (like myself), don't really eats a lot, make some exercise and are always looking chubby. Then try EATING WELL, try more vegetables (I now its hard, very, very hard), less meat, and drink more water instead of sodas and juices, cause you can exercise by walking the dog, or go shopping, but if you eats a lot you will be so full that you will not feel like doing anything else, and if you don't eat enough, your will not have energy to do anything neither.

Another thing is that if you just begin exercising this weekend don't even try to look for results, cause loosing weight is not that easy.

Anyway, try making a body check first, to see what you have normal and what you have in excess, cause every person is different and sometimes while a solution can resolve problems for a lot of people, it's maybe not really what you need.

try doing things with a balance, cause if you overdo it, can become a serious headache(I've seen people that get into treatments with clinics and they sure look thin after the treatments; not really a lot end the treatment thought, but in exchange; besides money, they have to throw away their health).

The answer is to eat what you want but do it in moderation. Cut your meals by a quarter or even half. Drink lots of water, too. If you deprive yourself of the foods you like, you'll end up bingeing and ruin whatever progress you have already made. Weight loss also depends on your metabolism. That's why some people can eat whatever they want and never gain and ounce, and others can just think about food and gain a pound. In my opinion, walking is the best exercise you can do. If you could walk for an hour every day, and drink lots of water, too, you'll see the pounds come flying off. I did this one summer and lost thirty pounds. I didn't stop eating what I liked, but I did cut down on portions. God bless!

The eating does it faster.Don't think of it as depriving yourself. This sets up a negative aspect already. Diet is just the way you eat, that is all. Everything in moderation. What are your goals? If you want faster results, turn up the heat on exercise while having smaller portions or small meals throughout the day instead of three heavy meals.Your body will start to use the stored fat for fuel. Peace.

PLEASE refer to my other answers here at Yahoo for a more complete explanation, but to clarify:

Hormones OVERRIDE EVERYTHING!

So, the WRONG foods-- a liter of cola followed by 6 donuts and then a sweetened coffee with deep-fried anything to fill you up--
OR
Stalks of celery covered in peanut butter to fill you up--

BOTH are the wrong foods, but the main reason the first one rates WORST is the hormonal factor, even IF the calories were the same:

Large quantities of highly processed foods with lots of sugar and/or fat cause a spike in insulin, the main trigger hormone for fat storage.

Compare that to this meal:

Mixed greens salad with chopped lean chicken and beef, tossed with mild salsa and slivered almonds, with an olive-oil based vinaigrette, topped off with honey-raisin garnish.

Sounds good, fills you up, and the fiber and protein outweigh any processed sugars in the meal, preventing insulin from spiking.

HIGH sugar OR fat (or both) or LARGE quantities of ANY food will cause a spike in insulin. Some people spike their insulin as many as 20 times a day! 20! Drink enough soda and it's easy.

You did ask what's the QUICKEST way to gain fat. Then the answer is diet. I can deliberately store fat right now if I eat the right amount of calories or the right quantity of ingredients.

Imagine this: Sit down right now and eat an entire stick of butter.
Sound delicious? Every time I ask a client that question, they make a nasty face. Because the thought of eating pure fat like that disgusts us. Now, imagine eating an entire pint of rocky road ice cream. Not so hard. So, here's the point: Whenever we mix carbs with fat, the brain chemicals that tell us when we've had enough intake of fat are fooled by the presence of sweetness. Since the brain is fueled by glucose, it tolerates a large amount of sugar before it tells you to stop, whereas a large amount of isolated fat makes us nauseous MUCH quicker. Combine the TWO and you can eat a huge amount of fat calories before the brain tells you to stop.

Nowhere in nature will you find an extremely high-fat carbohydrate source, even in avocados. You'd have to eat SO many avocados you would sicken yourself before you could match the amount of fat in a huge bag of buttered popcorn or a pint of full-cream ice cream.

Regarding exercise: please read my other answers and find out why SO MANY women are actually working out TOO HARD when they exercise.

Hope this info helps--

Best Luck to You...

im gonna hav 2 say eating the wrong food, because i dont exercise much and my weight still stays the same.
And if u wanna lose weight, i would suggest that u eat mor healthy stuff and then exercise because if u eat junk food, it's like burning the calories from the junk food u 8 and u'll bounce baq 2 ur "normal" weight that u started out w/ b4 eating whatever u ate.

~EATING THE WRONG FOODS WILL MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT FASTER THAN NOT EXERCISING.
~YOU GAIN WEIGHT MORE RAPID BY INCORRECT EATING HABITS THAN LOSING WEIGHT THROUGH EXERCISE.
~THE ONLY REALITY IS:
~AND THERE IS NO WAY AROUND IT...
~YOU HAVE TO DO BOTH; THE HEATHLY EATING AND EXERCISE TOGETHER TO ACHIVE MORE CONCRETE RESULTS
~DON'T THINK OF IT AS DEPRIVING YOURSELF; THINK OF IT AS DOING SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOURSELF AND NOT SHOVING ALL THAT UNHEATHLY CRAMP INTO YOUR BODY WHICH CAN CAUSE OTHER HEALTH ILLNESS e.i.; CHOLESTEROL, HEART ATTACKS, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, DIABETES, BREATHING PROBLEMS, VARICOUS VEINS, ETC, ETC, ETC,...
~ALSO RAPID WEIGHT LOSS IS UNHEALTHY TOO. WITH THIS METHOD YOU WILL GAIN ALL THE WEIGHT BACK AND THEN SOME BECAUSE IN SUCH A RAPID TIME YOU DID NOT HAVE TIME TO CHANGE YOUR BAD EATING HABITS AND TO INSTILL NEW HEALTHY ONES. YOU COULD ALSO RUIN YOUR METABOLISUM, YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM, HAVE HAIR LOSS, IRITABLITY, ETC, ETC, ETC,...
~WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST AND I'M ROOTING FOR YOU!!!

Both and either.

You lose weight by figuring out your BMI, and what the normal daily calorie intake number is for that BMI, and cutting it in half. On the opposite side, to gain muscle, you double this amount.

You can really eat whatever you want as long as it is half your reccomended calorie intake, but it really is suggested to eat a nice variety of things to get all of the differen't things your body needs.

Aerobic excersizes are great for losing weight.

A new study gives scientific clout to a conclusion many already see as obvious: Eating lots of fast food makes you fat and increases the chance of developing diabetes.

Unfortunately, in our high stress society, we put ourselves through disaster training several times a day, which triggers these hormones to grab high-octane fat and quick burning glucose for energy to supply our brain, heart and muscles. And with that comes the necessity to store more fat. There’s no question that cortisol increases fat deposition in one place, the worst place of all...the belly.

It is not a matter of depriving yourself. It is matter of still concuming more calories than your body requires. Don't starve yourself... but just lessen a little of how much you eat at meals. Take lesser portions. You can do this, good luck in your weight loss.
