It is difficult to forget something which has been part of your culture and traditions for many generations, even when you become a priest, minister, etc. Indians and Sri Lankans, etc. seem to be facinated with astrology and although it is against Christian teaching, such people who change to believe in Jesus cannot let go of it completely. I have worked for years among African Christians and they have the same problem. Many times I have heard such comments as, I don't believe in witchcraft but I know it happens! A contradiction!

These things are all rather vague and wishy-washy and there's a good reason for this - it is so that more people can be fooled because some of the things will apply to most people.
The only test for truth is whether they can specifically and unamibigously mention something from your past and pipoint something in your near future otherwise they are all bogus/hocus pocus.

I am not a Hindu (or even Indian) but I would just like to say that my understanding is that some form of astrology is a very long-established and important aspect of eastern thought and religion generally, however dismissive of it we in the west may be.
It's worth remembering that in such traditions genealogy has always been important too (and we are only now discovering its relevance to ordinary folk), that their culture is in fact far older than the Western way and that they gave us much of what we now take for granted in terms of science and philosophy.
We all make our own choices of what we believe of course, but I think we do humanity a disservice if we ignore, or disrespect beliefs other than our own.
Truth is not absolute... and no one person, or group, has an exclusive claim to it.

Indian priests usually know astrology as of heredity. Whether his prediction was true or false can only be known to you by keeping watch, how this year proved to you.

THESE PRIESTS operate on a TRIAL AND ERROR basis.
Don't believe them. Your future has nothing to do with the stars. Your future depends on what you THINK, SAY AND DO at the present. Also, put your trust in God.
