My son recently failed a drug test while on probation. It is his first violation of probation. He is in jail now and will be there for another 6 months waiting for a new public defender to be assigned to him and a hearing which is in Nov. The state is requesting he serve 20-30 months. Depending on what your crime was originally as well as the judge handling your case, will decide on what happens to you. If you were originally arrested for a drug crime, you will probably go to a drug rehab live-in facility. If your crime was not drug related, then you will probably serve time in jail. The length of time depends on the severity of the crime you were charged with and how many VOP's (violation of probations) you have had. My advise to you is to call your probation officer and inquire about going to a drug rehab. program and admit you have a problem. If you don't, he will just soon have you picked up anyways. It would look better for you to show you are wanting help of your own free will.

You will likely be arrested soon for Probation Violation. If this is your first violation you will probably be reinstated. It is in your best interests to turn yourself in if you receive a warrant in the mail.
Turning yourself in will at least gain you some respect by the probation officer as well as the judge. It will also help if you are employed and have a stable home environment. This all is important when probation decision are made. Good Luck!

either probation revolked or sent to treatment center. Sometimes they make you sweat a little. Your p.o. probably knows you failed the test but he's making you wonder whay he's going to do
