both claim to save lives. both have actually caused so many deaths

You cannot compare the two really.
I think people should have a bit of both worlds.

They both contributed to human development as a species. First religion, then science.
Science saves lives here on Earth, religion saves them after .. So, for now it's science ..

science isnt necessarily better than religion and religion isnt necessarily better than science. its all a matter of opinion. i personally think that science is a lot more credible than religion because there proof of their findings. science is also way more objective than religion. religions range all across the world only agreeing on few aspects while the their is a consensus for the majority of science all across the world.

Not better,just different. For those who are not faith filled,facts provide comfort.For the faith filled ,facts can be a distraction.What is the essence of faith? Things hoped for but not yet seen(manifest). It is not science or religion that causes so many problems. It is human interpretation and application thereof.Peace.

science based on experiments and results in understandble form,religion is theoritical ,most experimental details are hidden and abstract.
