They are against people willing to overcome all odds to support or improve themselves and their families. It is a form of envy, a hatred of the good, because someone willing to do that is a hero. Many of those that are born here expect a job to be protected for them from outsiders, but the job is owned by the business owner and it is his property.
The only legitimate reason for anger towards illegal immigration is that the US immigration laws are a prohibition in effect on legal immigration, and this creates an underground economy, which allows criminals an opportunity to hide much like the prohibition on alcohol in the 1920's, the Congress of which passed the current immigration laws and quota system.
The solution is to eliminate the visa, and green card QUOTAS which limit the number of people allowed to enter legally. The ambitious immigrants are NOT able to enter through the check points, quotas are relatively very small.
If the free workers are allowed to enter by the checkpoints then those that are sneaking in the criminals would be much more easily caught by the border patrol.
The current American Immigration laws are Quotas and as such are UNAMERICAN, immoral, UNCONSTITUTIONAL against Thomas Jefferson's idea of Expatriation, and Individual Rights.
Most of those who are against Illegal immigration are against any immigration. They want the law to continue to try stop it. That's why they do not offer a legal means in.
Anti -illegal immigration mouth pieces, polling organizations, use poorly designed or loaded statistical samples, "research tanks" use non -scientific, false assumptions, nonsequitor starting positions, or just misrepresent facts. They refuse to see a legal means for immigrants to enter, because they do not want immigrants in the US.
The illegal immigration propaganda data people quote are usually from the front organizations for hate groups or white supremicist groups.
Illegals have very limited access to welfare, except foodstamps if they have a child born here.
Illegals use very little welfare 4 1/2% even by the numbers from an anti immigration anti illegal immigration organization (do the math).
Emergency rooms are overloaded in the south central city of Los Angeles due to gang related injuries which usually do not involve illegals.

Illegal. ILLEGAL. It is against the law to come here without first obtaining citizenship, long-term residence, or a work visa. When you do so, you don't pay taxes. It's not fair that some people work so hard to live in this country, and those who take the easy way are getting the same respect. Illegal immigrants should be sent back to their countries until they are willing to come here legally.

Several reasons:

For one, the government can't track illegal immigrants since they don't know their name or anything. Therefore illegal immigrants could more easily get away with crimes or acts of terrorism.

Secondly, (and perhaps primarily,) illegal immigrants get paid cash, since they don't have a tax file number and don't pay tax. Employers know that they are illegal immigrants, wanting to avoid government attention, and are therefore able to pay them a fraction of minimum wage. This means that a citizen of the country can no longer work in that job, since the employer doesn't want to pay them more.

Thirdly, illegal immigrants don't go through customs or quaratine when entering the country. Therefore they could be introducing feral animals, contagious diseases or parasites into the country and the national health system.

Illegal immigration is bad for the illegal immigrants as well as the residents of the country. Have you not heard any stories of illegal immigrants being promised the world only to be smuggled into a country and sold into sexual servitude, slave labour, etc...?

You always need to look at the bigger picture

because it's like getting something in a department store and not paying for it.

illegal immigrants get to stay in a countryand enjoy all its resources without having to contribute anything to the maintenance and development projects of the country. Faithful taxpayers most especially, are very much against illegal immigration

hope this helps,

If someone supports illegals or doesn't care that illegals break our laws, then what other laws do they think people can break?

For instance, can I break into their house, steal all their stuff, eat their food, drive around in their car and they won't do anything to me? If they support illegal activity for the illegals then they would be hypocrites to want to have me arrested.

We all have to obey laws. Why don't the illegals have to obey laws as well? Why are they getting a free ride?

more about the fact that if they can walk across the border then so can terrorists, but also they use services. They jam county emergency rooms that tend to be the best trauma centers in major cities, and that endangers the lives of US citizens. Get other social benefits driving up our taxes while they pay little or none. Take away jobs that should go to our folks who are on welfare instead. Not personal, but we'd prefer to help their country develop so they can stay home & support their families.
