Stella is full of stabilisers. Not sure what they are but they give me a 'tannin hangover' akin to cheap red wine. Of course in Europe/Uk they only have the premium brands (5%+) and Stella Artois is made 'under licence' in the UK ... the stuff on the continent is less full of rubbish. I've tried it in the USA and it is foul, but then even their 'king of beers' is a chemical copy of a decent European (Budvar) so I only drink imported when I travel to the States.
I therefore (in the UK, where I live) stick to Becks, Budvar, Grolsh and Staropramen - more expensive but a decent strength and I don't end up with a drill in my head the next day!

Beer is obtainable in 2 guidance... Ales and Lagers. it truly is totally such as wine, the position you've pink Wine and White Wine. the most effortless beers that individuals drink are what you call Adjunct Lagers like Budweiser, Miller and Coors. each and each and every classification has a large form of kinds, such as wine the position Wine has Cabernet, Chardonnay ..etc etc... party.. indexed less than are some Ale kinds - Porter Stout Saison Brown Ale And the following is a few Lager kinds - Dopplebock Pilsner Vienna dwindled Lager and many many extra... each and each and every form has it truly is own unique style, as an party... Pilsners have an tremendously floral style and citrus like notes similiar to oranges. Brown Ales could have an tremendously nut like style such as pecans or walnuts. some Brown Ales can style like toffee/caramel blended with nuts. one in all my well known Brown Ales is Moose Drool Brown Ale. it truly is scrumptious, tastes like pecans. in any case... lager is beer. it truly is merely that, some breweries don't worry to inform human beings what they are ingesting, like Anheuser-Busch (makers of budweiser) as an party.. they don't tell those who Bud is a beer. same with Miller... Miller is a beer. I favor Ales myself, they frequently don't have the watery corn like tastes that Lagers have. Now, there are some reliable lagers accessible like Ayinger Celebrator Dopplebock and Brooklyn Lager is an outstanding beer also, yet many times, ales are extra effectual beers. Stouts and Porters could have a competent style yet not consistently. in case you've in no way tried an Ale, Moose Drool may be an outstanding decision. the extra wide-spread Newcastle Brown ale is a good beer yet no the position on the brink of being the most acceptable brown ale you are able to get. ****EDIT**** wow, there are some really lame solutions in the following. Stephen - Guinness Draught is a Stout not a Porter. to boot that... Porter is an Ale and so is a Stout, they are merely yet another form of Ale. **see above** enormous H - Lager is beer. each and every beer on the marketplace falls less than 2 categories, Ale or Lager. Fosters is a beer, the appropriate... **see above**

The bar-room price foreign visitors will pay for a bottle of Stella Lager starts at around EGP 9.00 (EUR 1.20 or USD 1.50 as of February 2005), but could rise to EGP 20 or 25 in a five-star hotel lobby bar.

Stella Artois is a Belgian lager beer brewed in Leuven, Belgium by InBev (formerly InterBrew). Although the Artois brewery was established in 1366 (named Den Horen, "the horn" at the time), the brew as it is commonly known today did not arrive on the scene until 1926. Colloquially known as Stella, it is the most popular premium lager in the UK beer market, and is being heavily promoted as an international brand by InBev. In its home market of Belgium, however, it is marketed, priced and sold as a regular lager. Most bars in Leuven carry it as their default draft beer.
Summary
Alcohol: 5.2%, 4 g/100 ml
Calories: 140 (12 fl. oz.), 120 kJ/100 ml
Brewed in Belgium and the United Kingdom, as well as other countries including New Zealand.
Name
The beer was created in 1926 as a Christmas brew, and named Stella after the Latin for "star".
Artois was the name of the brewery from 1717 to 1987 (after Sebastian Artois, who was named the brewery's Master Brewer in 1708, purchased and renamed the brewery).
Nicknames
Known as "wifebeater", possibly because of the famous scene in A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), in which after Marlon Brando's character's wife flees after he beats her, he pleads for her forgiveness by shouting "Stella!". Also claimed (in urban legend) that its high alcoholic content compared to other beers in the UK causes more violence, though this has no real founding.
In Cockney rhyming slang, referred to as "Uri Geller", "Paul Weller", "Nelson" (Mandela) --> Stella.

Stella is brewed from hops and barley, including the Bohemian Saas hops, which allegedly account for some of its flavour. Apparantly, Stella Artois is brewed for 6-11 days longer than other beers, which also adds to its flavour.
Something else I learnt tonight from the website is that Stella Artois should be served at 6-8 degrees centigrade to appreciate its flavour and qualities to the full.
The beer contains the usual ingredients - water, malt, and hops - as well as a unique kind of yeast that only the brewery uses.
