The argument goes that lethal injection is the most humane because it's the mode that requires the least amount of human participation. Firing squads, electric chairs, and hanging all require executioners, but lethal injection is done by mechanized machines-- although, someone builds the machine, loads the gas pellets, etc.

Like I said, though, the argument goes that it is the most humane of the available methods.

This question was posted clearly and concisely in what seems like the genuine pursuit of knowledge. Anyone who comes on to argue about the morality or merit of the death penalty can f--k off and die.

It depends on what you mean by "best." If by "best," you mean the quickest death, I would think lethal injection or firing squad would be the best, although with the firing squad, the person might not die instantly, and lethal injection does take some time. I think a bullet to the head would be cheaper, and if the head is bagged, it wouldn't be as messy. If you meant the least painful way, I think it would be lethal injection. If you meant the longest or most painful way, I would think it would be hanging or just shooting the person in the stomach.

Wow, there's so many to choose from. If by best, you mean the coolest way to watch someone die, hmmmm I'd have to say being drawn and quartered, but I'm partial to stoning.

Personally, if I had my choice, I would go by firing squad, with a broken cigarette in my mouth.

The electric chair is the most epic though, aside from being fed to the lions.

However, the quickest: Le Guillotine!

Well if we are to assume that it is moral...we know it is legal why not some extreme form of torture and televise it...If it is moral to kill it must be good to kill therefore I think we should do all kinds of torture until they die...we could televise it for weeks until they finally die and the world could enjoy it...hey its moral right? we should enjoy moral things...and why should just the government be allowed to preform the execution we could all let our kids gouge out an eye or stick an electrical rod up this persons butt...I mean if it is moral shouldn't we teach our kids to enjoy moral pleasures....If we are to assume killing is moral we might as well assume torture is moral shouldn't we? If it is moral we should not kill them clinically in hiding we should televise it ...I mean its moral so why not? dont we act like we are ashamed when we do it clinically and we hide it...why are we ashamed if it is moral? lets start enjoying killing people if it is moral? what other moral things do we do in hiding and quickly so no one notices or sees? these things we do in private secretive are usually immoral things that we are ashamed of if we are ashamed maybe it isn't moral? if we wouldn't let our children participate maybe it is immoral...If what I am writing sounds disgusting to you its probably because killing people is immoral and shouldnt be enjoyed or carried out...I Am a Christian and Jesus said let he without sin cast the first stone....and Jesus forgave the sinner..He was at a lawful execution when he said that..he himself said that it was righteous...but let he without sin cast the first stone..So now we know the answer to What would Jesus Do? But I seriously doubt that it is going to matter to most people.

There can be no humane way of taking a person's life..irrespective of what that person may have done...

There are better ways to truly punish someone than killing them..

24 straight hours of anal rape followed by all of the above if the offender is a member of the law enforcement, if morality is to be streched.
