Not exactly sure but I think it was "Smokin Joe Frasier"....OK, it was Joe Frasier......

Smoking Joe Frazier. When they fought for the Heavyweight championship in 1970. Ali made his comeback from exile imposed on him by the American government for not fighting in the Vietnam war.

it was "Smokin" Joe Frasier. but in all honesty it was after ali's 3 year layoff where he lost his prime years. If ali had fought frasier in his prime it wouldnt have been close and the trilogy wouldnt have happened. Ali was smarter in his later years but his skill was greater before his exile. And in my humble opinion Joe Frasier was not skilled enough to deal with ali in his prime. He wouldnt have landed a punch. Ali took more punches in one fight with frasier than he did in his entire career prior to that fight because of the layoff from the exile

Joe Frasier their first fight March 8 1971 in Madison square Garden it was a big event they were both undefeated but Joe won that fight.
