and the dog has been "fixed", that's how the person will respond. WHY?!
For example: If their dog is a female they will say, "She's spayed." But you didn't ask that! You asked if they were male or female, nothing more!

Maybe its because when you ask someone the gender of their dog some people believe it to be related to breeding purposes so they tell you they are fixed or spayed just in case that's what you were implying.

I have a neutered dog and when asked this question I never say he's been neutered. So I don't know. Maybe perhaps they are interested in breeding your dog with theirs? Even if an animal has been altered (neutered or spayed) it's still the same sex as it was before the surgery, male or female!

The gender of the dog stays the same. Even if they are spayed or neutered. It's either a male or female. Very simple question.

I don't know. I have a male dog. I don't advertise the fact that he is neutered. He's still a male- no big deal but some people may associated a fixed dog as being neutral in gender although this is not true.

Regardless if the dog has or hasn't been fixed it is still either a male or a female, no exceptions.
They are still answering your question though...
Spayed can only be a female and nurtured can only be a male.
But if the answer to your original question is just fixed, that is no answer at all!

Sometimes people are looking for a stud dog or would like to know if you are going to have puppies. It is answered before you ask.

It's so that you won't ask them if they can breed with your dog. It's something I don't do He's just my boy, even if.
