I mean, they give me drugs, and the drugs make me sick in other ways. The illnesses just keep piling on! My health stinks!

I have been to 17 doctors in the last 7 years because my case is so complicated. Only 2 have impressed me with the work they have done for me. One I "fired". One I sued and one I reported to the AMA. Right now, I am struggling with the complications from medications that several said I had to have. Trust me when I say I am my own patient advocate. I educate myself as best I can about the drugs, treatments, therapies, operations and illness or diseases I have.
9 out of 10 doctors that I have worked with are only interested in parts, not the whole person and they willingly hand you back and forth between their buddies so they make money too. More often than not, what one says, the other does too and both get paid for the same diagnosis. I wish I could write my own prescriptions because I could do better just working with my pharmacist.

Doctors are not trained to fix problems they only fix symptoms the problem is most fixes cause other problems that cause other symptoms for them to treat. It is the old catch 22 except they catch your money while you catch a wheelchair or worse.

I think that doctors are mostly overworked. Often they don't have the time to really put into figuring out what's wrong with you. And more than anything, they just don't know all there is to know about disease. There are so many variables. So many symptoms can be for so many diseases. They can try and try and look and look and do blood tests and still not know what is wrong. I think most doctors are honestly just doing their best. I too have an illness or (illnesses) that nobody seems to be able to diagnose. All they can offer me are drugs for the symptoms and more tests....

Thats an interesting thought..i also wonder if there are cures to serious illnesses like cancer or diabetes already..and couldnt doctors be accused of genocide for withholding this information considering all the people who have died from these diseases?..after all there is more money in continuous treatment than there is in a cure

If you have been taking various medicines and you feel they are experimental and largely, ineffective to make you feel better, you should get a complete physical examination by another doctor for a second opinion or third opinion about the condition you know that you are being treated for by your current doctor. If there is any drastic difference of opinion by any other doctor about your condition, you should change doctors and/or seek alternative treatments aside from the drugs you have been taking.

I had a Bmt and take 40 pills a day for everything. I appreciate the medicine. My health stinks too, but the best thing we can do is smile. We got to see another day.

yes alot of time, they are just like car mechanics, mechanics always leave one thing down in the car so that you keep coming back, similarly if you becomes perfect in health doctors will go out of business... but let me tell it all depends on person, few doctor take pride that there medication completely cures on th other hand few wants people coming back- just an advise try changing your doctor

If you are not satisfied with your doctor, go to another doctor. That is your right as a patient. You don't HAVE to see the one doctor.

No, although I admit that many drugs commonly used have very poor side effects profiles.
