It depends on what's going on in your life. If things are in a state of change or instability,,,it is normal to feel irritated or anxious. Or if you are a teenager...in my experience...they seem irritable all the time. Stress at school or work, fighting with boyfriends or girlfriends, money or the lack of it,,can all cause stress and agitation. Life can be stressful at times, and we all get depressed once in a while. Talk to someone about your feelings...it really helps sometimes to just get it all out.

It can be, but you need to look at a lot of other symptoms to be able to diagnose depression. These could also be a result of stress or lack of sleep. If this is a chronic problem with other symptoms such as not wanting to get out of bed in the morning or loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, or if you have severe fluctuations in moods from irritated to happy, or delusions of grander, you really should seek help, don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about it, your doctor can prescribe an antidepressant that will help. Just remember that if there is a problem, you must get help, and if you are placed on meds to take them as order, they may take a few weeks to see a difference, and do not discontinue use just because you are felling better.

it's not exactly a sign of depression, however there is manic and bipolar and i sounds more along the lines of bipolar. if you are constantly depressed for weeks at a time that is manic. if you can be happy one minute and then suddenly get angry or sad, and your moods change alot, that is bipolar. maybe you have some anger issued you need to work on. or think about what it is that upsets you and why. it may be that you see something in that other person that you see in yourself that you dont like, or maybe your stressed out. is suggest if your state has an m.h.m.r mental health mental retardation program thah you take advantage its free if you cant afford it. if not talk to somebody, anybody, perferably a psych or counselor

Not always. if you are a girl, it could be PMS. If you are a guy, you may just be tired of the same crap all the time. Make some good changes in your life. If possible, stay away from whatever irritates you.
If it worsens and more symptoms occure (thought of suicide, etc), see your doctor

Yes, it can be one sign. Too much caffiene can cause these symptoms. Not eating enough throughout the day, lack of exercise and boredom can be culprits too. Stress is a biggie.

There are numerous other factors like insomnia, fatigue, and loss of interest in friends, family, etc. to name a few. It's best to see a professional who can provide you with proper testing and, if needed, medication to help you beat it.

I actually think it's more of a sign of anxiety than depression. But, in my experience, anxiety and depression do go hand in hand.
