Can you add tint to temporary filling materials?

I tripped a couple of days ago and chipped one of my front teeth. Of course, my dentist can't fit me in to fix the problem for three weeks, so he recommended over-the-counter temporary filling material to hold me over. The problem is -- eek -- I'm a smoker and a cola addict, and my teeth aren't as bright white as they should be, even after dental cleanings, etc. However, the filling material is incredibly bright white. Does anyone know anything I can do to tint this stuff when I apply it so at least it doesn't scream "Hey, look at the guy with the screwed up front tooth"?

there really isn't much you can do..as it will not set properly if you add a liquid to it...try putting a wet tea bag on it as often as you can..tea is the worse stain maker on teeth...some cigarettes actually leave an instant stain on your teeth too....my friend smoked Merits for 2 days & her teeth had yellow stains...
You can always tell anyone who gives you an odd look if you can't get it darker.."man,you should see the other guy"!!
Bottom front teeth aren't as noticible as the top ones...you could just try not to smile..or cover your mouth when you around going to laugh...
Maybe some of these new candies the kids eat can have a yellow shade to stain it ??

No one has perfectly white teeth...foods stain them,genetics are a factor too....they are either a shade of yellow,gray or brown...
I used to have to match colors for false teethe and composite filling materials (used on front teeth),to blend the color with the person's teeth
Temporay filing mterial use first used in the Vietnam War when the troops couldn't get dental care...some dentist say it's as white as it is,so when they did get treatment it was very obvious what tooth it was..others said because of the color of the ingredients used to make it....

try making a paste of coffe grounds and put its juice on the filler!but get it right back off because it will turn tooo dark!
