I love my boyfriend dearly, and he loves me. We have been together about a year. We had a good intimate life. He has said from almost the beginning that he really likes/loves me but that there is something missing. There is no "chemistry" he thinks I am attractive, but that there is something missing.. and he has a difficult time desiring me. What does "no chemistry" mean, and is it something I can do something about? Can a relationship last without it?

I was just reading the answers--think some detail is necessary..
we have lots to talk about--we talk all the time
our likes and dislikes, religious beliefs, political beliefs are all almost the same (about 90%) we rarely fight, but have good discussion.
When he says chemistry he always relates it to the physical, but he says I am attractive.
As for finding someone else. Most likely not, with his work schedule it would be difficult. (except on line). He has also had the chance to go be physically with someone else and turned it down. I guess. Thanks for all the answers. They are really helping me think things through.

its meabs that yes he likes you alot but in the end you guys really dont CLICK so to speak! You guys are prop more better as friends i think and in the end you will either be friends or ull work it out. But if he is saying there is no chemistry now then most likely there will never be. Sorry girl, so times things like this happen. You should go away together or something first thro to see if you can find the missing link. If so i wish you all the best, if not its ok you will have a great friend and there is plenty of fish in the sea!

When your boyfriend says that there is no chemistry in your relationship, it means to say that your relationship didn't blend well. What I mean is that, when you are together, there is no connection between you and him, there is no compatibility, you and him didn't get along well. A relationship could barely last without it because the other person might look for someone where he could feel more compatible.

that's something that can;t be changed and probably means you won't work out. He'd probably be happier just being your friend but doesn't know how to tell you! I'd say you go and find someone you do have chemistry with

he means that he isn't head over heels in love with you and that he stays calm, cool, and collected around you.
A relationship WITH HIM can't last without it because he insists on this kind of uncontrollable passion.
So the best thing you can do for youself is cut him loose and find another boyfriend -- the current one is NOT going to work out and you can't solve this with a makeover!

When someone says "We have no chemistry" That is the nice verson of saying your boring. Do something that will make him like you even more. Normaly all you have to do is impress his friends and your on his good side.

I hate to be the one telling you,but that means that your...guy friend thinks that you two don't have much in common or to talk about and stuff like that and you should never try to change your personality for a guy.
