Yeah. But probably not all the time, I mean it would be lonely. Well, if you had a dog (Preferably a collie) then it would be ok. But I don't think I would be very happy without any friends. It is probably POSSIBLE, but not PROBABLE.

Yeah, I have gone a long time without friends, though i realize i had potential friendships i did not develope. Heres the way it worked out for me: once I was happy with myself, being alone, I began to attract people because i was satisfied both along and with others.

if you are desperate for friends, you can scare them away by giving them too much love and attention. but if you are mopey and sad all the time, talk about how horrible you are, then you won't have friends either. moderation is the key...

so be happy, you have yourself, and then you may find you have others too.

I think this question is relative. People like different things. I think you can definitely be happy and have no friends. This may just be a point in your life when isolation suits you best; and perhaps later on when you feel the need to have companions in your life you may seek friendships.

You say "no friends" so that means zero? I find that hard to believe unless you are a hermit or really nasty or something.

The older we get the smaller number of friends we usually have. I think you can be happy with a select few that are a good support system.

I think it's very much impossible. We are relational creatures. The need for companionship is hotwired into our body make-up. Studies done a long time ago on newborn babies is known fact already, i think. Equal numbers of newborns were grouped into two, one having contact with the mother, and the other group having none. Many of the newborn babies of the latter group died after an extended period of time.

While it may be possible to be happy without friends, you can be so much happier with them.

"Happiness shared is doubled, grief shared is halved."

Many times I have taken vacations overseas to london, Korea, and Spain. While I have certainly enjoyed myself I would find myself turning to someone who wasnt there to remark on a beautiful landmark or tower and of course no one was there to share it.

Sometimes but honestly in the long run I'd have to say no. It gets lonely, depressing, saddening being alone and having no friends. Espically nowhere else to go or nobody to reliy on for support or guidance.

Yup. But it sounds a little lonely. Be a friend to yourself and all other things will fall into place. If you are happy and content this way, then rock on !!!!!!
