She rolled across the ground. Lower left front leg near ankle/foot is what she has injured. She is picking up as far as misery level. Giving lovin's again but foot is bent in. Won't straighten it out. Licking on foot without whining now. Sleeping much more comfortable though still awakes in pain. Can I do anything for her now? No Vet services anywhere near at night. My Vet won't open until morning. I hate to see her suffering like she is. She's only about 3 months old.

To update. She is lying on her back now. She lets me rub her foot without whining. Hasn't tried walking on it yet though. And to clarify for some, I called my Vet's Office. There is NO EMERGENCY TREATMENT FACILITY NEAR. I have no choice but to wait until morning to have her checked. My 10 yr. old daughter is up with her as well. I feel bad enough as it is. It isn't like I am waiting just to watch her suffer. So much for caring help. For those of you who have been nice and helpful, I thank you!

Hopefully you made it to the vet and all is well.

For pet emergencies in our area, the closest vet worth driving to is 100 miles away.

Believe me, I have made that trip in all hours of the day and night. Once, wearing just my bathrobe! For a feral cat that showed up howling on my doorstep at 2AM!

The cat survived and is now a house cat.

Did you put any ice on the area that is painful? I would think you need to keep swelling down. Wrap an ice cube in a little cloth or folded paper towel. Gently place on the foot if it looks swollen. Leave on for only 10 minutes, if she will let you do that.

Call the vets office, they may have an emergency number for evenings. My vet does and will either come out to the house or meet you at the office if it sounds bad to them. I would give that a try. If it is broken, that can be serious.

Given her tiny size, I wouldn't give her anything, orally. If she will tolerate an ice pack, that would be great. Be careful with that as well. She is so small, it wont take much to drop her body temp, so don't leave it on more than about 5-10 min every 20 min. Remember, pain is nature's way of saying "Don't do that". So event though it hurts, it will keep her still so no more damage will be done. Get her to a vet ASAP

Don't give a baby Yorkie aspirin! If the vet has to do surgery, it will cause her to bleed too much.

The best you can do for a possibly broken foot/leg is to leave it in pain until she can be treated. If pain is lessened she will be more active and aggravate the injury. Just love on her and keep her as calm as you can.
Do give her food to keep her from becoming hypoglycemic, if she will eat a bit. Chicken or other plain cooked meat would be the best. Offer her water, as shock from injury causes dehydration.

Don't feed her for 6 hours before going to the vet. She can have water.

Aspirin is good for arthritis,,may be good now unless the dog is bleeding because aspirin thins the blood & you would want it to clot to stop.If you give aspirin,,only give about 1 quarter of it if that with food.Buffered preferred. Aspirin is given by the weight of the dog.I dont know how big your dog is but seeing its only 3 months I wouldnt give a large dose either. Is there a vet that you can call to ask?Good Luck.

Call the emergency vet clinic and talk to a doctor. If it is broken there really isn't much they can do tonight. You have to wait for the swelling to subside.

Do not give aspirin, tylenol or ibuprophen - especially due to your dogs tiny size!

Poor thing. No food or drink they will have to do surgery in the morning if she has a break. I feel so sorry for her. I cant believe the Vet does not have emergency services. Call him at his house he may come in.

Put ice on it on and off. Poor puppy. I hope she'll be OK. No emergency vet clinics around? Check the Yellow Pages. Call the vet. He may have an emergency # on his answering machine,

be very careful about giving a dog an aspirin if you give them aspirins only give coated aspirins, never plain aspirins to a dog. Especially one as small as yours, get the poor baby to an emergency vet, you wouldn't wait until tomorrow if your leg may be broken. Be more careful.

If she's broken it, the best thing to do is keep her from moving as much as possible. Don't give her anything orally (even food) just incase at the doctor's office tomorrow they need to sedate her to take x-rays and possibly splint her foot.
