I don't know your country....but at least there are so many quacks here in India....so there are so many cases where we poor people have to bear the ignorance of these halfbaked doctors.
Even in my family.....
My mother was operated for ovarian cancer, and was not stitched properly, which lead to many complications later, even she had to be reoperated, but after so many years she is not fully normal.
One of my uncle was wrongly diagnosed as normal, even when he had water retention in his stomach, which lead to delay in treatment, although he was saved in time.

when i was preg. with my first i was about 30weeks along and i started getting really bad cramps, swelling in my legs, and turning red and blotchy, and felt like someone was kicking me in my back, and stomach was hard like a basketball-so i called my dr and she said it was pry just a kidney infection and just to keep my next appt-2 weeks away. so my mom told a ob/gyn that she worked with at the hospital about it and she told her to get me to the hospital ASAP, turns out i was having preterm labor, they had to give me steroid shots in the butt to help my daughters lungs grow quickly, and i had to start taking procardia every 4 hours so i wouldnt go into labor. ended up having her on her due date!!-never returned to original dr

An person i know had a doctor screw up, so he did not detect her mom's breast cancer. She unfortuneatly passed and the doctor was blamed and there was a huge case brought against him. He is no longer practicing from what i gather.

Be aware of dental doctors. I've heard some damages done to patients by dentists. Let's hope they were not intentional errors.

Yes they are only human, but yet they have to pay for their mistakes, its part of the job.
My neighbor was supposed to have a small lumpectomy to test for cancer. Instead they cutt both of her breasts off. She sued and won. She did not even have cancer!!
