Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you whereever you go. Joshua 1:9

I am not sure where it is off the top of my head, not only is it very powerful. but also the shortest sentence in the bible(that little fact may help you find the verse)......Jesus wept.
I don't know about you, but it makes God/Jesus closer in my mind to understanding things going on in my little world seem just as important to them. a couple others you'd need to do a search for....he counts and bottles every tear we shed.......he has the hair on our heads numbered(which means every time you wash your hair and some go down the drain, he knows just how many are left). Proverbs and Psalms are some great places to find promises. Hope that helps some!!!!I have buried my only brother and my own baby in the last 12 years...God uses all kinds of things...people, the bible even dogs can make you feel love when you need it most. Just talk to him, like you would your own dad, if you didn't have a close relationship, then talk to him just like you would to a friend. He knows your heart, just be honest, he knows your heart.

Two come to my mind. Genesis 1:1, I pondered all my life then at age 49, I felt a question in my heart. What will I believe, Genesis 1:1 or evolution. I answered Genesis 1:1. My life has been changing ever since.
Recently Matthew 16:16 has made a great impact on me.
The whole book is a great reward.Be Blessed and enjoy your fervor.

Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
"In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths."
We learned this small but profound verse as a song in church many moons ago. It was sometime in 1986.
Luke 17:20-21 (New American Standard Bible)
"20 Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, "**THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT COMING WITH SIGNS TO BE OBSERVED**;
21 nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God **IS IN YOUR MIDST**."
The upper case emphasis within asterisks is my own. Here, Jesus points out that the next Coming will not be an obvious event, but one that is subtle, "not coming with signs to be observed." Jesus Himself is saying this! Why else would we be instructed to be on the watch? Below, again, upper case emphasis within asterisks is my own, but the wording and punctuation I did not change:
1 Thessalonians 5:2-6 (New American Standard Bible)
2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come **JUST LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT**.
3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them SUDDENLY LIKE LABOR PAINS UPON A WOMAN WITH CHILD, and they will not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are NOT IN DARKNESS, that the day would overtake you LIKE A THIEF;
5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day We are not of night nor of darkness;
6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be ALERT AND SOBER**
He came again in May 1844, Iran. His name is Bahá'u'lláh. Click on the **2nd** link and select whatever religion matches your own. You'll see what I mean once you click. If you click on the 1st link, you will go to the official website, but the 2nd link shows prophecy fulfilled.

1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
I think that you need to get on your knees and get back with God, this is no joking matter nowdays.

What a great question to ask! The ones that impacted me most were (and I can't quote to perfection) the one about the road to hell being wide and heavily taveled; and the road to heaven being narrow, hard to find, and difficult to travel. Also recall one saying "if you feel you don't belong in this world, you probably don't" or something to that effect, and what I attribute to my being "different." :) Sorry I can't give you specific verses 'cause I haven't picked it up myself in years, but just read Revelations ... It is a REVELATION!
