I find that, well it depends on age. I'm in high school, so we talk about school, about our friends, about classes. We talk about teacher's and pretty much everything related to school. But here are some ideas:
- work
- the weather (it may seem generic, but the start of a weather conversation can really lead somewhere)
- and what are her interests? if she likes jewelry then talk about jewelry; it really depends on what she likes.

Ask questions to the girl, like whats your favorite movie, place to go, food etc.. People love to talk about themselves , so let her talk about herself and be a good listener.
