my dog is about nine in human years and she just started this thinga few days ago she is a good dog so i dont think realy need a muzzle i also think muzzles are crule to use on dogs that are not realy dangerous and i would chain her up but my cats would gang up on her. I am very attached to my dog so i will not be killing her off thank u very much.

Are you sure it's the dog and not the cats? My terrier has killed every rabbit, mouse and mole in my yard and even a few squirrels, but she's never gotten a bird.

Don't use a muzzle or chain her up - it is cruel for more than just the short time needed to control a dog at the vet or groomers. Put something in your yard like spinning discs to chase the birds away and don't feed them in your yard. Trim hedges so the dog can't sneak up on them. Putting a bell on her (and the cats!) like "nis" said is a great idea.

Muzzle

There are soft muzzles, that are just straps, and that would be more comfortable and less confining than a cage muzzle. That and a bell, I think are the way to go.

Shoot the dog then you only have one dead dog to deal with instead of a bunch of dead birds.

I heard somewhere that you can teach dogs to punt dead birds into the woods.

1. Feed him better.
2. Don't let him outside without proper supervision.

Put a bell on his collar ,this will warn the poor birds.

My dog did that too. I usually wasn't around when he did it, so I couldn't yell at him, otherwise yelling at him probably would have worked, he understood the word NO very, very well.

It is a dog's instinct to catch and kill things, he will grow out of it.
