Who needs to be sick when you self medicate? Sheeeit...drinking a beer or having a smoke is considered 'self-medicating" these days. But if you mean, taking old antibiotics or antibiotics left over from a friend when your ill....not a good idea. Could make yourself sicker. But a shot of brandy instead of Nyquill...yeah, I believe in that....I mean, I KNOW what's in brandy, I don't know what the drug manufacturers are hiding.

the only time I go to the ER or doctor is when there is something terribly wrong. Just being sick is no reason for the doctor, even if it lasts for a week or so. The doctor is just going to say to drink lots of fluids and take Tylenol or Advil as a fever reducer and headache reliever.

Yep as much as I can becuase even copays are expensive and MEDICA is very picky on who is in service and they pay less for Doctors that are not in their directory which the biggest clinics out here near Aurora Il. are the Dreyer Medical Clinics and they don't cover there it is VERY FRUSTRATING!!! My question is why would Menards ,knowing this, select them for insurance coverage? IT's all about the benjamins! Noone cares about the people any more.

For most things only your body can fix itself and a lot of medicines have side effects. So for flu and colds I just take chicken soup and sleep and let my immune system do the rest. And the best way to keep your heart in good shape is to have your own fitness program and avoid junk food. If you need medicines to fix your heart you're already in bad shape! Cancer's another thing, though, I'd need help with that!

Yes, but only because I read a lot on medicines and biology and consider myself pretty knowledgable on the subjects. My sister even calls me to find out what kind of pain killer to use on different types of headaches. I should've gone to med school when I had the chance ... :)

What else would you do? If you are sick and don't want to go to the doctor, you take Tylonol or whatever. Maybe Pepto Bismol or cough syrup? Yes, I do that.

yes, i almost always know what's wrong with me before i go to the doctor. then i go in and say i have this or that and i want this or that medication. they of course don't believe me so they check me out and confirm that i am correct and that the med i asked for is the correct one for my illness.
