Try the YMCA, the Zoo, Children's Musuem, your local church or religious center are a few good ones to start. You didn't indicate an age for the kids but also try finding something thru Leisure Learning.

YMCA has several wonderful programs this summer. visit ymcahouston.org
also, check your community paper (not houston chronicle). that's where you can find a lot of advertisements for summer programs and activities in your area.

I would suggest going to a library near your residence, a gymnasium or recreation center, etc. and looking at the programs there. There may even be programs at your local pool.
