I don't know the laws in CA, but common sense would say NO an 11 yr old is not capable of babysitting they are still babies themselves. In the state I live in a 11 year old can only be home during the daytime alone before 6 pm for only 1 1/2 hour alone when it is daylight outside, and they must be inside not out.

Yes an 11 year old might be able to babysit.
Most people feel that people a little older, 13 or 14, are more responsible to take care of their kids. There could always be an instance where someone could hire you, but it might not come up.
Then there is always friends of the family that know you that could trust you better, and in that situation you would be more likely to be hired.

You can be 11 and babysit in California. To get a real job such as working in a store you have to be 15 with a wokers' permit. I've babysitted when I was 11.

You should know what you're doing and I believe you ahve to be a certain age (13-14 or so) but there's some people who are hard up for a babysitter so I guess that would be up to them if they hired you. It a big responsiblity to have the care for other people. You have to be really serious.

I don't know about legally. But, many 11 year olds have baby sat before.

most people would prefer a babysitter of at least 13 years of age. it's easier as u get older. as how to make extra money, maybe u'd have better luck going around ur neighbourhood asking if u could do yard work or stuff for them. good luck!

In Garden Grove, CA it's 13... but anywhere it should be at the least based on the maturity of hte sitter.
