There is a Navy job where you sand the special paint on the flight deck of aircraft carriers. Recently exposed classified Navy records state that no one in this job specialty has lived past age 42 since WW 2.
I.E. stay away from that job (permenate Lung Damage) You Die!!!
Join the Army.

All of the jobs pay the same, it goes by rank... Some do have higher entry bonuses though... And for safe jobs try to get something that sounds like a desk job... Or supply or something... Military's retarded anyway, at least the army. Don't go army.

If you are looking for high pay in the Navy...go Nuke but as an officer. Very good bonuses, sea pay--pretty good money in comparison to other military jobs. Pilots get pretty good bonuses as well. If you are looking for money in the military here are 2 things 1) be an officer 2) if you are just looking for money don't join the military. They need dedicated people devoted to their work, not their pay. Plus you could get more in civilian jobs.
As for safest job? Any training evolutions in any branch could lead to injury, any boot camp, and any officer training.
Safe is overrated anyways

Go for the job classification that will get you a civilian job. Disbursing clerk could lead to a good banking job. Keep in mind that a job like Hull Technician, can lead to advanced training like tig/mig welding. Lots of options.
Keep in mind, you don't have to know how to swim, it's staying afloat that will save your **** if you go in the drink.
Good luck.
