My one year old eats in a hurry, grabbing handfuls of food and shoveling it into his mouth.

I think they all do.

It's hungry work, all that growing and exploring they do. I think they don't realize how hungry they are until they see you preparing a meal, and then they just can't wait.

Our 11 month old daughter is an eating machine, and you'd think she's about to start a prison riot judging by her banging on her tray and rattling her cup...

Our almost three year old has JUST stopped eating like a madwoman. Now she's decided that she hardly needs to eat at all. Guess she's finally not growing so much.

Did this just start? Could be a growth spurt. Has it always been a problem? Have him checked for Prader Willi Syndrome. It is a genetic defect which causes the stomach to fail to send the brain a signal that it is full. People die from it. Very few sufferers live past childhood if not diagnosed and treated early.

This is just a normal phase of growing up. I would suggest that you be a little bit more organized and have his food ready before he gets hungry to the point of screaming.

He's a little boy, he's just hungry lots of 1 year olds do that. Unless they are going crazy and choking their selfs up then just let em have fun :)
