Visit the people in the old folk's homes, read to them or whatever. Be a 'big brother' to some troubled young boys. They have programs for it. Volunteer at the community center for something.

Volunteer for a charity or join a local community group eg: Rotary.

participate in town government. anyway you can. This is where a lot of decisions are made that directly effect your life! Don't let a few lead the whole.

I give them lots of my money to distribute as the politicians (and School Board) see fit. Nice gig for them.

I overfeed other people's dogs. That way they have to take them out for a walk more...which means more exercise for the dog owners....which means longer lives for all.

You could do yardwork at an old person's house. Mow somebody's lawn!

I put up beautiful lights in my neighborhood at Christmas time, actually it a group thing. it is so beautiful when the work is done!

I am a volunteer Firefighter. I also help coach my kids sports teams. (softball & football)
