My moms says she is very lenient compared to her parents, but we found her to be very strict. I guess I'll be less strict than her, and tell my kids that I am way more lenient than my parents. :D

My parents divorced when i was 8 and my mom made about a million mistakes with us. She was married 3 times after and she always put her husband before her 4 kids. There was alot of emotional and mental abuse in our home. I remember not watching T.V. for like 3 years, not being able to go out with friends like a normal teenager, and not being able to enjoy any part of my adolesent life. My son is not going to experience any of these mistakes I've been through

my bedtime was at ten even at the age of 16-17 which in itself isnt a bad thing but once your child gets past a certain age I think they should atleast be able to stay up until 11

my grandparents wouldnt let me spend the night with a friend or let me go out with friends when i was old enough Im not going to restrict my daughter to this Im going to buy her a cell phone and make her call me so I know where she is and I dont worry and let her go out with a friend every once in a while on the weekends

my grandparents never talked to me about sex, and other things I should have learned about from them I want to teach my daughter about these things so I can prepare her for the real world and how to say NO and things like that...

I want my daughter to go out and get a job and will encourage her because it teaches a child how to better manage their money and helps her to grow up realizing that not everything will be handed to her and that she has to work for what she has... this will help her to function better in an adult

Help my child with her homework, unfortunately my grandparents didnt get the proper education to help me when I needed help in school so this is something I can do for my child

My mother did not discipline us correctly, therefore we had a lack of respect for her because we never took her seriously. She was overprotective also, and I am trying my hardest not to do those things. I think I am doing a pretty good job, because my kids listen to me, they respect me, and we show each other tons of love, that is another thing my mother didn't do with us growing up.
She has also had rough times in her life and her cure is to drink her problems away, so that is something I feel very strongly about. My kids don't see me have a drink very often, and if I ever drink in front of them, I act responsible and don't get drunk.

They didn't spend quality time with my brother and I. There were no hugs, and,"I love you" being said just to say it.

I am now a mom of 3. The time I spend with my kids is quality. I tell my sons I love them everyday, sometimes because I just happen to notice how cute they look playing on the floor.

They made me come in the house at 6pm when I was 18. Then when I turned 20, I wanted to be wild and get into trouble just to feel like others my age.

My mum owned two businesses and had to work long hours, i am an at home mum for that reason. And when i have to go back to work i will make sure that I'm home for dinner and can attend sports and things like that, because my son is my number one priority!

My mom cried on my shoulder, confided in me her innermost problems and made me eat all my vegetables. My dad was a gambling, cheating alcoholic. So I married someone who drinks VERY ocasionally, doesn't gamble, and is VERY shy. I don't make my daughter eat all of her anything, and the only time she saw me cry, she was crying right next to me( it was when some raccoons killed our oldest bunny).
