With all the Biblical references to God's different body parts, and the fact that He made us to look like Him (Genesis 1:26) how can there be any other conclusion?

I hope nobody tries to say something stupid like God was not smart enough to talk to us plainly and had to use metaphors.

We definately look like God. As far as the 'metaphor arguement'...it says God made man in his image, and in his likeness. Some will say that means we have his 'attributes'. Don't believe them! In Genesis it also says Adam had a son in his 'image and likeness' (same wording, pretty impressive huh?) so did Seth look like his father? OF COURSE!

May I first thank you for your answer to Mainworry's question "Why Oh Why?" I enjoyed it. Secondly, without using the age old "don't take Genesis to literally," don't take Genesis to literally. They are creation myths, one of the most abundant things on the face of the planet. But, is it not unfair to say the Creator of Heaven and Earth takes a physical form. Of course there is the anthropic principle which states that we see the universe the way it is because if it were different, we would’t be here to observe it. Therefor we would perceive God as a humanoid, because that's what we are. In my personal beliefs- the Supreme Ultimate, the Creator, the One is beyond our understanding to perceive with the five senses. That is what pagan gods are for, what the Christ is for, to put God into perspective we can understand.

When God made Adam and Eve they were in the image of God. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. After Adman sinned our image is no long like God but like Adam. Genesis 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

What if God was one of us, just a slob like one of us, just a stranger on the bus trying to make his way home, like a holy rolling stone, back up to heaven all alone, nobody calling on the phone, except for the Pope maybe in Rome.

God does not look like anything. God is everything everywhere. God is a genderless energy source and can take any form God pleases.

The Bible says we were created in Gods image. So yes, I feel your conclusion is correct.

I don't know He has never introduced Himself to me in this life as God. I think the Bible was written by man just to scare us into submission to the government. We are slaves, for now, and if there is a God we will know him sooner or later, why worry about it now. We should worry about the man who is destroying us, not about trying to figure out the Bible, or what God Looks like. Thanks for your time. Peace.

Actually, he said, "And let us make man in OUR image"...so there was more than one "being" there. We don't necessarily have to look like God physically, either. He could have meant that we have a soul, just like he does..? Who knows, and why care about it. Just live life the way you think you're supposed to.

Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. We are not because we are born with sin natures. God is sinless. We will be in His image in our glorified bodies.
