Feed what you have to the birds. (your backyard lawn will do) Then go the grocery store and purchase a box of Uncle Bens. There are instructions on the box.

PS While you are there, pick me up a pound of butter. ty

Be sure to thoroughly strain rinsed or soaked rice. Excess water can make your rice mushy.

Combine the rice and water and bring to a boil. Use 1-1/2 to 2 cups of water per cup of rice. If adding salt or fat, swirl the pan to mix them; rough stirring could break the rice.

Lower the heat to a simmer -- bubbles gently bursting on the surface -- and cover. Let white rice cook for 12 minutes. Then let the rice rest off the burner, covered, for at least 5 minutes and as long as half an hour.

Fluff the rice gently with a fork or chopstick. Gentle handling will keep the individual grains from breaking up into mush.

*For every cup of rice, use 1-1/2 to 2 cups of water (less if the rice is washed first)

Depending on the number of cups of rice you want to cook. ex. boil 2-3 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. or just make sure the water is about 2 inches above the rice. Usually it takes about 10-15 minutes for rice be thoroughly cooked. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to boiling water (with the rice in it). You add the salt because it helps to keep the rice soft ad tender after it has been cooked. It also helps to keep the moisture in the rice.

Put 1 cup of rice in a medium sauce pan. Put 1 & 1/2 cups of water over the rice. Bring to gentle boil, reduce heat to simmer and cover for 22 minutes. Turn off heat and let rice sit covered for 10 minutes. Take off cover, fluff with fork and enjoy!!

Rice cookers work very well too & turn off automatically once the rice is done.

Oh yes, this is for white rice only. Brown rice needs more water and cook time. For brown rice, I highly suggest you do exactly what the package tells you. Hope this helps!!

Put it in a pressure cooker. Put two parts of water to one part rice and let it steam for 20 minutes or until the rice looks cooked

If you dont hava a pressure cooker, use a normal deep pan and boil the rice. It will take longer though.

Use 1/2 cup rice, add 1 cup water (2 to 1 ratio) and boil it. Then turn the stove down to low, cover the pan, and let it sit for 20 minutes.

There should be instructions if you have a bag of it, but it's really easy. Just boil the rice. Lean towards adding too much water because any that is left over you can just drain off. I usually boil my rice for about 10 minutes.

2'ce as much water as rice (example: 1/2 cup rice and 1 cup water) On a low heat for 20 min. Don't take top off, it needs the steam. Or in a rice cooker, with same amount of water.

if you're cooking rice once every couple of days or so, best to get a non-stick rice cooker. yes, brown rice (healthier) needs more water and cooking time.

Popular "rule of thumb": Put rice in cooker, fill in with enough water with water level exceeding rice level by half your thumb (fingertip to first joint)!

lol...

well you pour water in a saucepan (1 cup of water for 1 cup of rice, 1 cups water for 2 cups rice and so on) and you pour in the rice. cover the pan with a lid and check in on it periodically. when the water looks all GONE, the rice is done. takes about 15 min for 2 cups.
