Not when joking around, just when having emotions. Like a christmas concert, and is excited, but keeps a poker face. Or doesn't want to talk to parents about most problems. I am wondering mostly about grade 1's

My son is like that...he is six...he was sent to the principle's office at school..and when most kids that age would be crying their eyes out..he just sat there and looked at me.

yes, and I think children do this because they are afraid that the excitement will be taken away from them, or they are afraid that if the express their emotions they will be punished for it. I'm 22 years old and I am still like this. I think it has to do with how a person is raised. It's not necessarily a good thing.

yes i have a 7 year old that dont show any emotions and that is because my son has Prevasive Developmental Delays. and Autism. The PDD is where my son is 7 but has a mentallity of a 3 year old. Now im not saying your son has the same thing but check it out.

My step mother used to beat us if we cried, or yelled. If she knew that we cared about something she would take it away. My step brother & I learned very early to show absolutely no emotion. I am still like this. People think I am a cold fish. I feel things, I just don't let other people see.
