Where do you live? It's different depending on state, and can even vary by county.
For Example, in CA, you can buy liquor in a supermarket until 2am. But in CT, you only have until 8pm (and not on Sunday) to leave the liquor store.
Call you local liquor store and ask them their hours.

This totally depends on the state and whether you are in a small town or a larger town...
Here in Colo they close at midnight..unless you are in the city I live in..they close at 10pm. Oh, and forget it if you are having a party on a Sunday and run out of Libations...Liquor Stores are closed on Sundays here in Colorado.
However been back east before, and some places close much later.

It depends on where you live. Some close at 9, some close at 8...believe it or not, where I live (Fayetteville, NC) on Fort Bragg there is a shopette that sells liquor 24 hours a day. Lucky me! I need a drink at odd hours of the night since they took my husband away from me for a year!

Liquor stores close at 10pm in NY.
Liquor stores don't sell beer in NY. Food stores and local mini-marts sell beer as well as beverage distributors. You can get beer all day and all night in NY....I'm not sure about prior to 12pm on Sundays.

Depends on the laws of the state.
You can always find liquor served in restarants...on any day of the week. Of course, you will pay higher prices.

Unfortunately they close at 2am in Chicago. If you live around here, you got plenty of time to make a beer run.
