No, I don't think it's a girly name at all! One of my friends, (an emergency room physician) is named Madison, and he's one of the manliest men I know.

Madison sounds to girlish...i think you should switch his first and middle name around and make it James Madison or something like that, it sounds better and more boyish.....So what im saying is If you use Madison as a first name that should be for a girl, and Madison as a middle name for a boy!.....if your american, most likely your boy is going to get picked on in school for haveing the first name as Madison. there are more girls now a days with the name Madison, than there are boys with that name......good luck!

I have a friend that's a girl named Madison so if I were to meet a boy named Madison I would be taken aback. However, now that I think about is, Madison is a good boy name too. It seems manly.

I think that the name Madison is a decent, modern name for a little girl. I can see it being a boy's name, but when I first read your question I thought right off that bat, "girl's name"!

It's a very nice name. One of my friends named her little boy that. At least he will stand out because not too many little boys are named Madison.

I don't think it's necessarily girly, from the beginning it sounds more like a boy name, but I think society using it for girls has actually placed a very feminine stigma on the name. I would be very careful in choosing this name for a boy, as it may result in ridicule later in life;O)

Actually, no. I think it sounds more like a boy's name. Beware of not giving your child a certain name because they may be picked on- especially if the name does not sound radically odd or offensive-My parents did that and I still got picked on for things that had nothing to do with my name. And as for the girls who did have the name in my class, I never heard anyone pick on them.
